Newby here...man, my Priest seems slow. Anything I can do?

This became much more noticiable in BGs. My runspeed seems slower than others, especially in light of . Now, I'm not expecting to catch warriors or cheetahs or anything, but even when I MindFlay (which has a 50% movement reduction aspect), these guys still seem to blow by me.

But I see no +run/walk speed gear, no attribute that controls running speed...I don't even know what to look for gear-wise.

It's only my first few days in the BGs, I'm a newer player, what can I do to help keep my Priest mobile and fleeter of foot?

It isn't clear to me whether you are asking "why are those others so fast?", or whether you are instead asking "why am I slow?".

You mention that folks in BG's seem to blow by you...but you must be stationary when you cast it...so you clearly are not moving...and thus might be asking "why are they fast?"

i am gonna guess that you have your toon set to walk instead of run.

The Auto-run function is triggered on a normal keyboard by pressing the numlock key over the 10key num pad... If you happen to accidentally press the numlock key and the key next to it "/" at the same time, this will set your toon to walk speed.

My suggestion is try pressing numlock and "/" at the same time again, then try to run... should pick up for you.

My only other guess is that you are laggin and that is messing with your speed... my advice here, get a better compy or get used to it.

BTW - in humanoid form all toons and races have the same run speed unless affected by a chant or a special ability (rogues, hunters) or possibly even a pot.

Yeah, that was what I was looking for! Sorry, forgot to check post for awhile, no, I'm actually running, just still seem slow as molassis, and not particularly able to slow anyone else down very well either, thus far.

I'm an Enchanter, so I'll keep an eye out for the speed boost, and I'll start messing around Arathi Basin more.

also, instead of useing mind flay to slow opponents going past, use psychic scream. With mind flay, you must be stationary and they can still move, albeit at 50%, so unless you KNOW help is on your heals or already on him, find flay is better for slowing opponents heading towards you rather then away. YOu can also pick up the nifty stopwatch and an offhand which damages you as it speeds you [forget the name] for speed 'bursts'. the trinket has a 30 min cooldown, but is well worth it. I believe the off hand has a 10 minute cool down, but at least the damage keeps you from being sheeped
