Will they be deleted?

Lets say I am deactivating my WoW account, and wont be reactivating it again for several months up to a year. Will all my characters be deleted?

If I remember well they keep your data for 1 year. After that you loose everything.:sad:

I believe this is speculation...

I once called blizz on this issue and was told by customer service that they 'presently had no plans to ever delete anyones characters', regardless of the time it or the account it is on had been dormant/inactive.

I've seen comments with regards that the time alloted is 6 months (could be speculation by folks, never seen it confirmed by Blue), however that Blizzard at this time has no intention of purging their DB of non-active accounts. And that if, they do decide to do so, that they will notify all players, both current and former, and inform them of this decision and from whence the clock will start its ticking (that was a statement by Caydiem at the time, and I personally saw that message, it is a rough paraphrase though).
