Hey folks.. i left wow about 2 months ago to play eq2 and tryout they're roleplaying, but i feel a little dissapointed, due to lack of lying down, or even using chairs. (among other things) but what impressed me about eq2 is the community is very mature and adult.
first question is.. has the wow community got a little more mature over the last 2 months (no flame intended)
second question.. has wow's roleplaying got better over the last 2 months (eg via patch's etc)
third question.. what is a good rp server to rejoin to
fourth and final.. as im usually a paladin (on wow and eq1,2) what guilds are available on (above) server for a devout, sometimes zealot paladin
Thanks

Well...
I'm pretty sure that I speak for all when I inform you that WoW will never grow up.
For the second question, it all really depends on where you go.
Third: I like The Venture Co.

I play on EU RP server Darkmoon Faire and am a member of The Grinning Face guild. I have found that these guys and girls know how to have their fun without being immature and I thoroughly enjoy all my time spent on that server.

1. Depends what server you go to. I myself play mostly on Twisting Nether and the new Blackwater Raiders server. That said, I also have a bad tendency to hop around servers looking for the best RP ever that I know I'll never find.
2. Again, depends where you go. Patches haven't done anything new, if that's what you're asking. They never will. Blizz just doesn't care that much.
3. On any server you're going to have to search for RP. Again, I like Twisting Nether and Blackwater Raiders. BR is pacific time, TN is central. BR is a bit crowded, considering its new, but lots of RPers migrated there from other servers.
4. Well, I know of one guild on the Maelstrom server (RPPvP) called The Scarlet March, that's basically a non-demon possessed branch of the Crusade. Very zealotous, and don't tolerate any non-human races. The guild I'm in on BR is The Crimson Knights...I haven't really figured out much about them since I'm new, but you'd probably fit in. Lots of people for "The Light" there. And if you're interested in RP on Twisting Nether, send Jeromey (that's me!) a tell and we'll go from there.
Good luck!

Jerome speaks the truth. Maelstrom, while still plagued by n00bs,(yes, n00bs), is a very mature server. If you want to join a zealous and pious guild, the Scarlet March is the way to go. They were, at a time, pretty close-knit and low-leveled, but they grew at an astounding rate, and are now one of the most powerful guilds on the server, and probably one of the largest roleplaying guilds. They are very Heavy, excepting only humans into their ranks, and still having rules for Rogues and Warlocks, and Priests. Unfortunately, there are a couple of exceptions, like Sesire and Emyr. I grief them soo much for these exceptions, and they're really fun to Roleplay with.

As far as servers go, I've had rather happy results on the following (both RP-PVP):
EU: Defias Brotherhood
US: Twisting Nether
Nice RP communities.

Jeromey To correct so no faulse information is given. The march may not be demon corrupt but they are corrupt not to say they are bad rp in fact my charachter on maelstrom is anaslains(guild leader) arch nemesis. It is a fun server to rp on and if you find the right people it is very entertaining. two other good guilds on that server are the rebels The Revolutionaries my character served them for a long time (he was a paladin) or The Knights Templar. oh and lets not forget the best in my opinion Kul Trias Marines they take pvp and rp and mix it into one Great guilds for rp and pretty mature... though to be a little honest N00bs will always be there.

Good luck.
I play on "Thorium brotherhood" because it was recommended as an excellent RP server. Yeah, right.
In my limited experience only, I'd say 5% are RP'ers the other 95% are
children under 15.
Those who DO RP have no idea how to do it and instead sound like they're 5th graders trying to do Shakespeare plays. A few "ayes" "thees" "thous" dost not make a roleplayer lol
seriously though, acting critiques aside,
it's just hit and miss, trial and error - ask around, see what you can find.

Like I said (complained) previously,
an RP server does not mean an RP community.
Best bets are to find an RP'ing guild,
and as many are into RP'ing but few find good
fellow players (or even enthusiastic RP'ing noobs, which are welcome) look for guilds - they are always looking for more Rp'ers!)
Just ask if it is Light, Medium, Heavy, or Exclusive in it's RPing ---
many will have light, and that means "we will Rp with you if you insist but generally do not". If I could find an exclusive, high #, high level Roleplaying Guild on Thorium Brothers, I'd beg, plead, bribe my way in (just kidding)
ASAP.
