Poor performance 6600GT.....?

Hello all.

I was wondering if you could help me...

I've just bought my WoW membership, I came to play it and I'm running WoW on these settings.

Here are my specs :

Intel pentium 4 - 3.0GHz - 2MB Cache
2GIG Ram
6600GT

Here is a screenshot of the levels of detail I'm running...

So, those are my settings, when I'm in towns I only get about 30FPS, when I'm fighting I only get 50FPS....and when I'm in battlegrounds, it's just impossible to play. :(

I don't see why that should happen. I run an overclocked 7300GT myself (which kind of resembles a 6600GT) and it can max out at 1280 x 1024. Something is definitely up, but I don't know what.

I found that more than 2X multisampling kills my framerate. 30FPS is pretty good for just running around town. Not sure about your BG issues. Unplayable as in ... too much network lag?

I run an old old Nvidia 5200 and don't have issues in BG. And I run more graphics detail than you do (only 1X multisampling though). I live close to my DSL switch so my network performance is solid.

I run with a BFG Nvidia 5500 OC and i got higher setting tha you. But my average FPS are always 20'ish. Anywhere,BG,town.

thats really starange, i have a simlar set up -
Intel pentium 4 - 3.4GHz
1GIG Ram
6600GT

with this i can play maxed out and get a near constant fps of 60, drops down to 45 in capitals but ive never seen it go below 45.

Hello guys.

I re-installed WoW, and I put these settings on :

In Org by the Mail box and out side the Ah etc.... When theres lots of people I can go as low as 20's FPS.... But usually in Org I'll get 30 - 40 FPS...

In other parts of org, in not the so busy places, I get upto about 70FPS..

In battlegrounds, the average FPS will be about 30 - 40FPS, which is playable, it can even go higher than that sometimes.

When I'm grinding, I can get anything from 40 - 130 FPS really...., In Barrens I average about 60FPS.

Does this now sound about right?
