Honor Question

Hi guys,

I just started in WG two days ago (I go every so often) and I have so far recieived about 500 honor points . . . .so my question is this:

How much honor is needed for each rank in battle grounds?
Prvt, Srg.,Capt, etc. Mainly wondering when a privates rank starts . . .

I also heard someting about ranks (over your head) disappearing with the expansion - is this true? Will you still ahve a rank that shows up in the PvP rankings on the main site? :ponder:

So the ranks are not based directly on HK's or honor. They are based indirectly on HK's and anything else that gets you honor. They are based directly on your *honor rating*, which is based on your honor as compared to everyone else on your server.

For instance, let's assume you're on a server where *no one* PVP's. You get 1 HK and, ohhh, 100 honor for the week. But because no one else on the server PVP's, you've actually accumulated enough honor to be the *number 1* PVPer on your server for the week. This gets you mega honor ratings points - as many honor ratings points, in fact, as someone who gets 600K honor (and the number 1 rating) on a server with tons of PVP. So, being the number 1 rated player for the week, you get 13,000 ratings points (correct me if I'm wrong). You now have 13,000 rp's (assuming you started at zero) and can determine your ranking directly from that. You have to have 10k rp's to get rank 4, and 15k rp's to get rank 5. So you're a rank 4. (There might be a cap to rankings diff per week, here, but I'm not sure)

If you do the same thing next week, you'll get another 13,000 rp's, BUT you'll lose 20% of what you already have. That's the decay factor. You slowly lose rp's. (13k)*0.8 + 13k = 10.4k + 13k = 23.4k. It takes 20k rp's to get rank 6 and 25k rp's to get rank 7, so you're now a rank 6. So here you are, you've only got 2 HK's and you're a rank 6 PVPer. But it's only because everyone else on your server can't be bothered to PVP. Soon, assuming you get your 1 HK every week, and everyone else doesn't, you'll achieve an HR level of 60k and a ranking of 14. You're the uberz...

I am on a pvp server . . . but it's one of the newest ones . . .so im trying to up rank quickly! :grin:

Eh, it's not worth your time to rank up before tbc now if you are just starting out, maybe for the vendor discount, which you can get in a week (or two) no probs
