My problem is, it's possible I can't participate in the beta because my WoW account hasn't been active as of 8th October, like it says here: https://beta.worldofwarcraft.com/expansion/upgradeAccount.html

I don't have a key yet, but when I try upgrading my account, it says "Invalid Login".
So, could anyone please try upgrading your account, even if you don't have a beta key, and tell me what message you get.

Okay, thank you..maybe I'll still have hopes of using the beta then =o would be unfair if I couldnt participate because I took a break for 6 months..

If, you find you still can't use your key, then you might wish to consider sending it to Rushter to have it raffled off. Least someone will be able to make use of it then, in addition, the site will benefit, and you'll gain more knowledge about TBC through the testers reporting back here. Fairly win-win situation all round imo.

I have got a beta key and it says Invalid Login to me as well. Its similar to trying to log into the USA forums with my EU account details...is it coz we are EU?

If you are living in Europe and have a EU-account you have to use this link:

https://beta.wow-europe.com/expansion/

If you are living in the US and have a US-account have to use this link:

https://beta.worldofwarcraft.com/expansion/

Ok, think i sussed it...waiting for them to send me a new code after registering my blizzcon code.

While I do hope your desires are satisfied, Blizz does want people in the beta who are currently familiar with the functionality.

So, if blizz says you needed to be active as of Oct. 8, then so be it. But, I thought I read somewhere that the Oct. 8 date was only the cutoff for now, that you'd be allowed in the next round, or something...

How can I get a test key if I wasn't at blizzcon?

Through the competitions that had taken place on fansites a while back, or a few other means. However, there are no new keys being handed out right now, but Blizzard said there *might* be more at a later date, but don't hold your breath.

man i was looking on a site and a dude was selling a beta key for $100!
i like the game but i think i could find it in meself to wait a couple of months and save $100
