AFK getting Blizzard to rez my Warlock.
Really nice..would have liked to see it on an UD though. I like the vortex and the occasional lightning. With warrior armour among the nicer ones...
But tbh...after the Felheart set and the Nemesis Skullcap, the Tier armours could have been a bit more over the top.
Certainly Paladin T2 looks far better than T4...that is just...yeuch...

It's rather telling that the human rogue had his helmet not shown, don't you think.
Oh and agree Det on the T4 paladin gear. As a wizard, I rather like the colour purple or even magenta.. But that wasn't purple.. That was what I'd call pink..
Shamans T4 is just plain horrible.
The coolest i think is the priest one, simple but very neat looking. I don't like the helm of T4 warlock neither the 'portal' thing. If T4 are already that 'advanced' and 'futuristic' looking i can't imagine T5 or even 6 if we suppose they will be T5 and 6.

I think Blizzard is overdoing things. Badly.
Warrior is similar to T3, which I think is too extreme. Paladin looks fine (beside the colour), although the helm is a bit weird. It's much more "classic" than the "I look like Revan from KotOR" T2.
I'm happy with mage and priest; they both look very nice and don't have a bunch of wacky features glued to them. Druid is fine too, and would that be the emerald dream?
Warlock looks like a warrior. Seriously, it's supposed to be a cloth armour.
Hunter is kind of weird too. A swift archer of the wilderness shouldn't be running around the woods with these shoulder pieces. Shaman looks like a mix between Mage and Druid T3. Not terribly "natural" looking. Rogue looks fine, but I remember from alpha screens that the helm is horrible.
Overall, I think Bliz should go play WarCraft 2 and 3 a bit. The game's still called World of WarCraft, not World of StarCraft...

I saw that video before and am pretty excited about it. With the whole token system being introduced, it is going to be a bit more easier to get the whole set.
I totally agree with you Darth
Now for some class the Tier 4 looks like your character came back from a space travel and he wear an alien outfit..

Exactly, they need to QUIT focusing on looks of the game except the areas that you run around in, as well as instances. They also need to STOP making dumb names for things. We don't need a fu**ing Sword called "Destroyer of the Worlds" that thousands of people run around with, we also don't need swords that look like they're extreme lightning.
I agree, the lightning looks cool, but this is Warcraft, there's supposed to be spells and skills, and MAYBE up to a handful nice looking items. This isn't Dawn of War where the people run around with a Hammer that's sparked with lightning and you can slam it on the ground and throw everyone around you a little bit back. They're in the ultra-future (as far as it looks.) Warcraft is still (as it looks) far behind regular technology, they're just more magical and can hold buildings up with their minds, lol.

I loved the Warrior set, was 'meh' about the Warlock (looks too big) but I think this particular Paladin set (along with the others, from what I've seen in the few screenies) will look great on Draenei. Pally sets tend to be gaudy, and on large, broad-shoulderd Draenei males, they actually seem to fit and not come off as a tipping hazard.

I think all of the Tier 4 looks pretty good, the rogue one could use some work though. Also still wondering if the one shoulder on the mage is on purpose or not, but I love that it's not something pink/purple/turquoise for once.
Gonna have to disagree about not making the armor and weapons look nice. I think an important part of the design for many MMOs is in making your character feel powerful, to the extent where you can try and emulate the heroes you have come to admire. If you are willing to put in the time/effort to achieve this goal, why shouldn't you have really cool looking items?
Likewise, I don't think armor like we've seen is specifically impossible to exist in WoW's setting. While none of the races are significantly advanced technologically, especially when put in comparison to those in Warhammer 40k, they are certainly very adept at magic use. It's been said before that if both magic and technology could be developed to their fullest extent they would be nearly indistinguishable. Not to say that they have reached their limits magically, but there are definitely very powerful magic users within the lore. So, personally, I think they fit in just fine.
I think armour could still be nice looking without a look from outer space..
Althought i don't really minds weapons name and Sword sparking lightning (like TF etc..) Cause it can still be considered magic.. i don't know im just starting to wonder if in the future we will all look like alien or something like that..
PS: But yes for a 'Destroyer of the Worlds' it's not THAT powerful

You arent going to be happy with the new weapon models then. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4rJubpJctk)
I agree that the Warlock set is overdone, but then thats what MMORPGs are all about. If everyone walked around with a standard claymore then it wouldnt be so fun to get new gear. The visual style is what gives WoW its flavour, its part of what makes it Warcraft.
That said, they really need to drop that camera-on vortex sprite. It looks silly from the side. The mage and priest sets are pretty much perfect.

True, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that two very magically extravagent races (Albeit in different ways) have been introduced, one of which definitely has Sci-Fi influences. The fact that they each play very large roles within the expansion means that many items will probably mirror their cultural identities. Hopefully down the line, with patches and future expansions, they'll add items which appeal more to fans who prefer different designs.

Some of those look very similar to the T2 or T3 armor, namely the shaman, and druid. Yeah, the warlock one is definately the highlight, but I'm fairly pleased with them all.

Hm...I like the weapons thb...some of the swords look awesome. I mean...it is a huge array of weapons that get added...I like it how they cut lose on the design.
The more I read the comments here, I have to agree the warlock spikes and patterns look too metallic and warrior-like.../sigh ... actually that dancing BE garment in looks more "warlocky" than the actual set armour. Which brings me back to my original post...tier 1 and 2, with the skull and horns are indeed more "fantasy".
Then again I never liked the idea of our characters using rifles...bows ftw...

Would you all stop being such party poopers.
In the end we all know that the new sets are cool and we are gonna want to have em.
I' dont care where Blizz gets their inspiration from, I'm a little child inside and I want items that look "Kickazz", and these do definitely meet the requirements.

I know but lets face it even after all the Moan Moan Moan, even after buggy encounters, lag spikes, and chars stuck in PCT, we still come back and play some more because OMFG it's a great game and if it were as bad as it sometimes comes off in these forums we'd all just quit.

I don't really see any sci-fi influence. Unless you're thinking Warhammer 40k, which is a game that takes a fantasy setting and pushes it into the deep future. (And thus is still all fantasy with space ships, really. Even their space travel is more fantasy than sci-fi, if you read the fluff.)
Is it the glowing lights? They don't look anything like lightbulbs to me, but do look like magic sparkling around the armour. The portal looks of the Warlock armour? They tear holes in reality on a daily basis to summon demons from the Twisting Nether, I'd say the idea of them starting to look like they're connected to it makes sense.

Have to agree on the sentiments that the Warlock armour isn't that bad. It rather screams Nazgul at me to be honest, and to be more precise, the Witch-King.
As for the sci-fi tendency of some of the items, rather inescapable outcome when dealing with crystalline magic really. Both science and magic tend to utilize the crystals in similar ways, hence the similar look. Though all in all, I'd have to say that the look of a lot of these items is more Planar in origin, as in Sigil the city of Doors planar to be exact.

90% of the weapons I saw in that video were fine, the 10% that weren't fine were the rediculously shiny things and that's about it. I don't like things that are too shiny, I'm fine with the floating crap around the 10000 swords they have (but only have like, 3 daggers, and 2 Polearms, and 2 maces, and 2 axes.) and stuff, but sometimes they just overdo it.

Eh, become a Blood Elf Paladin then and be of the Epicurean or Cynic path. Rather matches them nicely imo.
Course, the only Planar Organizations that I even remotely have a liking for are the Wylder, the Guardians and the Sensates, though those Ciphers.. Strange ones to say the least. They have managed to earn my respect, even if I think them reckless fools, who make Kender look like the wisest creatures in existence.

Damn right it would be. Currently playing a min/max campaign located in Sigil and mini-planes mostly and boy would I love to see Half-Giant Psychic Warriors, Swordsages focused on Desert Wind and Tiger Claw,Artificers dual wielding maximized empowered wands going on a rampage in Sigil fighting Glabrezus and Solars ..... All that in an mmorpg
PS: The Harmonium are pansies, we killed a patrol of them last session
Ahem anyway, Sigil is D&D stuff, stop going off-topic :p

Hmm. i'd say some of the T3 and T2 are much better, the T4 Warrior made me scream in terror and claw at my eyes it seems that hideous to me. I liked Warlock, if only it was a bit too heavy for cloth as everyone else says here, but the oweral feel of darcnes, foulness and corruption was presented very nicely! Hunter is totally and utterly rediculous! Maybe the bulky orc added to the feel of heaviness and clumsiness, but this is definitely NOT how I picture a hunter - a person attuned to nature, a person who needs to be able to come to his pray silently, without making any damn metal clanking noises. :S
Shaman... a tottal rip of of T3 mage and priest. Nicely looking but definitely not shamanisrtic. I think the best looking shaman sets were D1 and D2. The rogue is just bleak, in comparison to the rest of the Rogue sets which all seemed wonderful, each in it's own way, T4 rogue seems like just a huge step back in creativity and design.

Wow That for a bunch of pixel?
What after, bang your head on the wall repeatedly then roll-over yourself and cry in a corner...
Warrior T1 was cool, with all those spike,
in T2 you look-like a can-opener,
in T3, if you dont boost the gamma a bit, you only see glowing shoulder floating in the dark, more suitable for a rogue, not counting the set design isnt that nice neither,
in T4, the look is very nice, nice design, the only bad point... brown?
Anyway, it all matter of taste. It will be solve the day Blizz will allow us to customize at least the color of our armor, thing we were able in many other rpg long time ago.

Blizzard has repeatedly gone over why they won't be implementing armor dyes, alas.
One thing that should be doable and that I would like even more tho, is the ability to transfer the stats (set bonuses, on use abilities, all of it) from a nice item to one I like the looks of better.
This could be an enchanter ability or something, you'd have to have both items in question, and they'd have to be the same slot and type (bow->bow, gun->gun, plate->plate, cloth->cloth, etc).
THat way if you had the Netherwind set and liked the look of the Sorceror's set better you could have the stats of NW but keep the look of the Sorc set.
This likely won't happen either, since Blizzard likes having people be able to gauge the rough equipment level of their PvP opponents based on their looks.
Ah well, I guess having an around town set for looks is here to stay, and before long we'll all be back to horribly mismatched armor.

the reason the shammy one looks like it is.. well, they are all about elements. tier1 = earth
tier2 = lightning
tier3 = fire
tier4 = ? (think about it :D)
rogue one is kind of underwhelming, bloodfang is probably nicest looking rogue set, especialy back when it had the smokey partickle effects
warlock set is crazy pimp, awsome^2
paladin actualy looks kind of neat, says holy fighter (wheareas tier 3 = power ranger, tier 2 = Judge, Jury, and Executioner (which is kind of neat actualy), and I have no idea what tier 1 is suposed to be. bananas?)
priest one is superneat with the revolving lights
warrior one looks like it was forged of fel iron in one of the demonic strongholds in Outlands, which make sense

Armors seem mostly cool to me. My problem is with a lot of the weapons. Seems like some of them belong in Final Fantasy, not WoW. The ridiculously oversized swords, mostly. The axes seemed okay if a bit over the top. I liked the maces best. Some of the staffs were cool with moving parts and all. I beat you with my tentacle-stick!
