The alliances have been formed. Bonds of loyalty have been made. The Horde and the Alliance are at a stand still. Tolerance between the two factions stands upon the edge of a knife and it will only take one false step to cause the ruin of Azeroth. Demon blood has been spilled on Night Elf and Human soil alike, undead flesh has been cut through by the thousands, an Old God has risen in the desert, and a Troll empire is held under sway by a terrible blood-god. The most powerful lich ever to come into creation floats above the blighted lands in the east, the elemental lieutenant of fire resides in the heart of a mountain, and a daughter and son of Deathwing plot against the mortal races. The Dark Portal has been reopened and adventurers flow through to claim the bounty of a forgotten world.

New allies have been found for both sides. Blood Elves give their allegiance to Thrall in hopes of finding their way to Prince Kael’thas, their true leader. Draenei have crash landed in a world unknown to them and the Alliance has extended its welcome.

With so many threats what more is there fight against? What more is there to strike fear into the hearts of the brave warriors of this world? The answer: a book of magnificent power.

This well worn tome lies somewhere in the lands of Kalimdor. Its secrets have been hidden away from mortal eyes for thousands of years. The writings on the yellow pages radiate magic of incalculable destruction and only the Old Gods or Titans could stand against such mysticism. The origins of this book are unknown. Only a handful of the most powerful mages on Azeroth, the Guardians of Tirisfal, knew of its existence but even they dispute about its creator. One guardian believed it was ancient troll magic, more powerful than the voodoo they wield now. Another suggested it was a book of magical incantations written by the Titans themselves.

No matter its source, it is being hunted. Someone has let the existence of this terrible artifact come forth and whoever retrieves it first will have all of Azeroth under foot. What will become of this world? Will it be destroyed, enslaved, or rescued? That is for you to decide.

The journey for the Book of Souls has commenced.

Hello everyone. I used to come to this site often but it's been awhile since I've been back. So, with the incoming release of The Burning Crusade I thought I would start an RP of my own.

Here are the requirements:

Class-see below
Equipment-The armor and weapons you carry.
Affiliation-Alliance, Horde or Independent
Description-What you look like as well as what you're wearing, besides your equipment.
Backstory-Your characters personality, experiences, why he has chosen the path that he taken, why he is searching for the Book of Souls.

Class-All classes from World of Warcraft are available to their respective races as well as all other races but if you are a race that has a class they wouldn't normally have (Tauren Rogue, Undead Paladin, etc) than give a good explanation. You can also use classes from the Warcraft RPG books and RTS games as well as classes you've created yourself but please explain for fellow rpers so they understand. Your classes also can't be overpowered or godlike.

Races-Alliance:Dwarves, Humans, Night Elves, Draenei, and Gnomes.
Horde: Orcs, Tauren, Forsaken Undead, Trolls and Blood Elves.
Independent: Pandaren, Goblin, Ogres and High Elves(High Elves would
be with the Alliance but we will go off the alliances formed in WoW and also, the High Elves are quite ostracised by the Alliance)

Now, if you choose an independent race you can choose the affliation of Horde or Alliance if you wish but please explain why.

Name-Lothren Brightwood
Race-Blood Elf
Gender-Male
Class-Blood Knight (Paladin)
Equipment-Crimson plate mail protects his body with dark black runes intricately painted along the sides. The phoenix symbol of his race is proudly displayed in gold on the front of the well crafted armor. His helmet is the same shade as his armor and a metal plume juts from the forehead moving back with a ruby in the center. The plume itself is quite like a fiery feather of their iconic bird. Blackened leather gloves and plate boots lined with animal hide glow with red runes inscribed on them.

His warhammer is a mockery of those wielded by the Knights of the Silver Hand. The long wooden shaft is made of gnarled, black oak that resembles the bark of trees touched by the plague of undeath. The head is that of a phoenix, painted deep red with hues of orange and bright yellow eyes. The beak of the mystical bird is curved down and the point is incredibly sharp. A red aura of malice illuminates the weapons head. It is weapon to be respected.
Affiliation-Horde (Though his true loyalty lies with Prince Kael’thas)
Description- Lothren is a head taller then the average human and his slight frame is the same as his kin though a bit muscular. His emerald eyes stand out against his crimson armor and long, shoulder length hair. Lothren’s face is angular and strong, with a chiseled jaw and smooth, fair complexion.

A long red cape with gold edges drapes behind Lothren’s back displaying the Blood Elf symbol in full glory. He wears a ring on each ring finger. One, a simple silver band with an emerald in its center, given to him by his fiancé as a gift a year before she was killed in the Third War and the other, a gold band that depicts a phoenix eating a ruby sun.
Backstory-Lothren was a warrior in the ranks of the Quel’thalas army when the Scourge attacked. Wielding sword and shield he fought against the undead menace intensely but their sheer numbers overwhelmed the valiant elves. Retreating with a handful of his fellow countrymen into the forest, Lothren swore revenge upon the undead and their leader, Arthas.

Wandering the forest of Quel’thalas scavenging for food and fending off troll ambushes, Lothren and his men were found a few years later by their kin. When they fled Quel’thalas after its destruction they began to feel the magic addiction setting in. They were able to sustain themselves off of the Troll magic users they fought but they were not strong enough to fight their way out of their homeland to find help. Lothren’s company was stranded in they’re own land for years waiting for help. That help came in the form of Lor’themar Theron, leader of the Azeroth Blood Elves.

Lothren was soon told the tale of Prince Kael’thas, his expedition to Outland, and their new alliance with the Horde by Lord Theron. He embraced the new title of Blood Elf and was only too willing to accept the stolen power of the Naaru, becoming a member of the Blood Knight order, trading his sword and shield for a finely crafted warhammer.

He is still unsure of this alliance. Lothren has very little respect for Orcs and even less for Trolls, whether they’re forest or jungle. The Tauren seem honorable, if a bit primitive, and though he hates the Scourge he realizes the difference between them and the Forsaken, willing to accept those under the command of Sylvanas Windrunner as allies. His loyalty will always fall to that of Prince Kael’thas Sunstrider but for now he will respect the bonds that have been made.

Lothren had heard about the Book of Souls in books in the Quel’thalas library. He drank in knowledge at every turn but could only find brief lines about the tome. It was always spoken of as a book of immense power hidden somewhere in the west. The elf had dismissed as a legend and paid it no heed, until recently. After hearing patrons in a local tavern mention the book and knowing now that the lands in the west were something of fact, he has left on his own to find it. Perhaps its pages hold some answer to their addiction but if not, it is still a powerful artifact that should be in the hands of the Blood Elves. But, where to look first?
-------
I know, long as hell but I won't post the backstory everytime.

Shanda
23-10-2006, 02:29 PM
This sounds very interesting Bleed, so I think il jump on the train.

Name: Shanda Windcaller
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Class: Mage (And this is not the wow-mage class, more like the actual azerothmages as described in the books.)

Equipment: Shanda is clad in midnight blue robes, with silverrunes running down the sleeves. A similar midnight blue hood is fastened to the back of the robes, and when worn hides the face of the wearer in darkness. Also Sturdy Leather boots and gauntlets, made for traveling in harsh conditions, darkbrown in color.
He has a black belt around his waist, those also with simple silver runes, and fastened to the belt is a number of small pouches. He also wears a long but simple woolen cloak, which of course is blue in color. To this comes a backpack, its content is for now unknown, but food and water is most likely found there.
But of all his possessions, Shanda values his staff highest. Though it at first looks like a simple wooden staff, made of oak or some common tree. A closer look will reveal a clear white stone inside the wood on the top of the staff. HE also wears a medallion around his neck, A flat golden disk with the insignia of the Dalaran mages carved onto it.

Afflication: Independant (more about that later)

Description: What at first makes you notice shanda is apart from other humans is his intelligent, intensive and striking blue eyes. A large mane of fiery hair, and his handsome features. He has a well buildt body, not muscular, but slim and almost agile in appearance. Some would say that he would look noble, independant and powerfull. But sad memories and years of mourning and grief has placed deep marks on his face...

Backstory: Shanda was born in a middleclass family living in Dalaran. His father was a scholar and worked with books for the mages. His mother ran a small shop on the bottom floor of their house, selling herbs and flowers.
From the very beginning it was clear that Shanda had a great inclination towards magic, and he soon wore the purple adepts robe of the Dalaran mage society.
The years passed by and Shanda by far exceeded his fellow students . And one year before the betrayal of Arthas and the invasion of the legion and the scourge Shanda was allowed to wear the blue robes and was given the Dalaran insignia. Around that time shanda also found the love of his life, Shira was her name. She was a student as shanda had been.
Their love was like one of those lovesongs you never want to end, and for a few months they lived happily togheter, with no troubles on the horison.

But Then the war came, most of the population evactuated the city before it fell in undead hands, and so did Shandas family, including his wife, which was yet to untrained to fight in the war. But only days later Shanda and the troops he was assigned to support passed a scene of terrible slaughter and death, There he found his family, all butchered and mutilated. There he also found his wife. Later Shanda learned that the soldiers who was supposed to guard the townsfolk until they reached safe lands had abandoned them in the wilderness.
The war went bad, most of the human lands fell under the growing darkness, and with despair Shanda saw the failing alliance succumb into itself. And the day he got orders telling him to oversee the execution of a number of highelfs, now called bloodelfs, charged for high treason against the Alliance he had finally had enough. The Alliance was responsible for the death of his family. The death of his belowed wife, the death of all those he had ever held dear.
He left the army camp and cut all his association with his former nation and loyalties, the corruption had gone to far.
From there he travelled to kalimdor, and fought the legion, but this time as an anonymous spellcaster, After its defeat Shanda has been in a state of numbness, dark memories always threat to overwhelme him, and now he only seeks sanctuary and cleansing for his battared soul..

(Yes I did not include any story for the book, but thats a thing I want shanda to be drawn into.)

Well, it seems that those this has gotten a bit of attention from people, it hasn't been enough to get people to join in. If it doesn't fill up a bit sooner than I'll just close it up.

Sangellas
04-11-2006, 04:23 AM
Sangellas

Race - Blood Elf

Gender - Male

Class - Paladin

Equipment - Sangellas wears a full set of modified Dark Iron Plate, save the helmet. The regelia has been made lighter and more flexible, and engraved with dark runes and sigils of power. He wields a massive two-handed sword, known as "Retribution". The sword is about 4 feet long, 3 feet thick, unimaginably sharp, undulling, engraved with a single symbol. It glows with the radiance of fire, and burns all who touch it except for Sangellas himself. Sangellas also wears a black cape, a black cowl complete with hood, a necklace with the symbol of Quel'thalas, and a ring with a brilliant diamond, the diamond holding a rune identical to the one on the Avenger.

Affiliation - Horde, though his true alliances are with the Blood Elves.

Description - Sangellas has black hair flowing past his neck, resting on his shoulders, a goatee, two deep, golden eyes despite his peoples' curse, fair-colored skin, if slightly tanned, and his body burned with runes of power; arcane, dark, and holy.

Backstory - Almost 7 millenia ago, in the lands known as the Tirisfal Glades, mystical beings known as the Celestials found an infant high elf abandoned in a secluded grove. His parents were found nearby, dead. The sympathetic beings of Light took the child, raising him as their own. Giving him the name "Sangellas", the immortal angels knew that they could not bring the child to the higher plane they lived upon. Making the ultimate sacrifice, they stayed in an isolated area in the mountains south of future Quel'thalas. They hoped the could raise the boy to become a champion of the Light. As they raised the boy, they were amazed by his power. What also suprised them was his intellect, and the rate at which he absorbed knowledge. He was as pious as them, reassuring their hopes he would become a servitor of the Light. About 6,500 years after they found him, they finally allowed Sangellas to rejoin his people. Fighting for the elves, Sangellas dropped his righteous fury upon his peoples' enemies with his magical weapon crafted for him by unknown sources. And so he earned the nick name, "The Blood Angel". The ancient, yet still youthfull paladin-- not bound to the Sunwell, fought against the Scourge in solitude during the invasion on Quel'thalas. He even stayed there after the rest had fled. After the blood elves' return, he helped rebuild the magical kingdom. Though he is disgusted by the Blood Knights' sick manipulation of the Holy Light, he continues to fight alongside, and teaching those who are willing to listen. Hearing of the Book of Souls, a magical tome he had only once heard several millenia ago, he set out to either claim or destroy it, depending on it's nature. His greatest hopes are that it can cure his people's magical thirst and be used to destroy the Burning Legion. That, or destroy it before it falls into the wrong hands.

((This was as short as I could make it. I'm going to try out my new RP character))

Entauru
07-11-2006, 02:11 AM
I'm in

Entauru Winborne

Race: Tauren

Gender: Male

Class: Druid

Equipment: Entauru's armour was gifted to him by the spirits of the Grasslands, it is made of leather and bone held together by grasses. When he is in the grasslands he can camoflauge very well as the armour helps hime hide. However the armour gets many strange looks from almost anyone that isn't a Tauren. Entauru carries a great Staff that is far too big for anyone but a tauren to carry, it is simply too big.

Affiliation: Entauru works for the Cenarion Circle, but has proven that he is an incredible ally of the Horde, doing all that he can to aid the Horde's efforts

Description Entauru is huge. Even other Tauren find him to be large. He is incredibly strong and makes sure to keep his body in as perfect shape as possible. He has long braided hair going down his back, and has braided his beard.

Backstory Entauru had been a Shaman in Cairne Bloodhoof's clan before the Orks came. When the Orks came during the invasion by the burning legion Entauru had helped them to defeat their enemies. Entauru belived that the Orks were a noble race and deserved as much help as possible. The fact that the Orks helped the Tauren beat back the Centaurs of the Barrens was a good thing in his eyes too. After the war during the truce the Night Elves began recruiting Druids from the ranks of the Tauren. Entauru was a logical first choice as he was already in touch with the Earth Mother. During his training he excelled although he never liked the forests of the elves. When he returned to the grasslands as a full druid he was gifted his armour in return for promising to be a defender of the Earth Mother for the rest of his life. He agreed.

Name: Lipido Redstar
Race: Gnome
Gender: Male
Class: Warlock
Equipment: Lipido carries nought more than a small staff about 1.5 times his
size.
Affiliation: Alliance
Description: Lipido prefers to wear a blood red robe, that has a black
hood/facemask and black shoulder & chestpads. He is about four feet tall,
and weighs about 89 pounds. He has no hair, as he was born bald. His eyes
are a dark greenish color. He is a normally good-natured fellow, but he is
very touchy on some subjects, even to the point of being insanely
passionate about them. He spends most of his downtime conversing with
his best friend, whom happens to be a very old (but gentle-natured)
sarmoth.
Backstory: Lipido began the practices of the warlock at around the age of 15,
having an early interest in the art. Much of his family are also warlocks. He
discovered the talent one day when he went hunting: he was about to be
killed, when he uttered some words he heard his father say, and a sarmoth
(his now best friend). The sarmoth, of course, saved him, but felt a special
link to Lipido, and the two soon became friends by sharing their feelings on
political matters. A few years ago though, Jin'dhem(the sarmoth) told him
about the Book of Souls, and Lipido took an immediate interest. Ever since
then, he has traveled to libraries across Kalimdor, searching for a lead on
the Book.

Hope it's not to late to join in. Also a quick note that this is my first attempt at this, so please bear with me. I'm not new to RP (grew up on D&D and still occasionally play a game), but I am new to doing it through a forum setting. So here goes . . .

Edit: Got a little long winded, but that is the fun of it . . . I hope.

Name - "Rowan"
Race - Human (in appearence)
Gender - Female
Class - Warlock - She is highly skilled in shadow and fire magics as well as being well versed in demonology and the demonic arts. You won't see her use many curses, but pray you don't find yourself as the target of her wrath!

Equipment-A black robe darned with silver patterns and dark orange / red runes. A cloak with a hood that matches the robe's stylings. It too has runes embedded within it, and they encircle a beautiful design of a demon with wings all curled up like something you would see on a shield or banner. When she begins casting or summoning, the runes begin to glow. The glow changes color depending on the spell / summon being performed. They also have a tendancy to start to smolder and smoke after long battles or a long summon.

She carries an ancient staff made of an unknown metal. It has two brilliantly purple and blue jewels encased in the staff near the top. From the tip of the staff eminates a dark blue flame that is cold to the touch.

Rowan also carries a few small packs and a large backpack with misc possessions. The most interesting of which is a rectangular shaped lockbox that is sealed with a magical enchantment. A way to break the enchantment and open the box has yet been discovered.

Affiliation - Independent - Rowan has no direct enemies with either faction, but no direct ties either. Due to her history, both factions find uses for her talents but neither will openly welcome her into the fold.

Description - Had her life taken her down a different path, Rowan would have been a very pretty young woman but alas. Rowan is of average height for female humans and an athletic build. She has flaming red hair and mysterious blue eyes. Dressed in her robes and cloak, she can be a very foreboding presence yet people are always somehow drawn to her.

Backstory - Rowan is very intellegent and quick witted. She know much of ancient lore, treasures of old, dark magics, and demonology. Rowan isn't quick to anger, but this in no way is a weakness. She can and does defend herself and her friends with awesome force, but only if it is justified. She can be your best friend or your worst enemy, and you will have no trouble knowing which one you are! At first, she is untrusting of new people, but show her trust and loyalty and you will have an ally for life.

Her past is a mystery even to herself. Her earliest memory is of waking up on the steps of the Stormwind orphanage. Next to her was a large bundle, a box with a magical seal, and a note. The bundle contained the robes and cloak she now wears but had to grow into. The note simply read: Her name is Rowan. Take care of her for I no longer can.

Rowan grew up knowing she was different then all the other children. As she grew into her teen years, odd things began to happen to her. For example, when a boy was teasing her about her red hair and she got upset, the boy's shoes suddenly caught fire! She began to hear whispers in her dreams. Rowan was also strangely drawn to certain reagents and books when she visited the Magic District. She began to study the arts of fire and shadow magic and learned that she had a natural affinity towards it. Before long, she was able to perform spells that even the most seasoned warlocks had trouble containing. Eventually, she was drawn to demonology and began to learn how to summon and control various demons. She grew fond of them, and always has thirsted to learn of new demons she could bring forth. It turns out that they were the whispers in her head all those years . . . calling her to them.

Rowan is now in her late twenties, but extremely wise and intellegent for her age. Her knowledge of the dark magic and demons is far beyond her years. She had left Stormwind years ago on a quest to discover her origins and find her place in this world. She has fought on both sides of the wars all in an attempt to find clues to who she was. Many times, people would have ways to open her sealed box if she did a task for them, but they never came through on their word . . . and never saw the light again either. She has become convinced that the contents of the box will show her what she desires most.

She doesn't wander randomly, but is rather pulled by various arifacts around Azeroth. She hasn't yet heard of the book of souls, but has felt a strong pull towards it for some time. She doesn't know what it is, but every step she takes unknowingly takes her closer to it.

12-12-2006, 03:07 AM
Name: Arolyon
Race: Human
Class: Warlock

Equipment: He is garbed in a dark robe with a deep hood pulled over his head cloaking all within. The robe appears to be of a deep midnight hue and like the darkest of nights cannot be distinguished between pitch black and deep blue, the color appears to change if you focus on it. It is covered in demonic script etched in white that fades in and out of existence. A belt of what appears to be darkness girds his waist, to which is attached a myriad of objects: a pitch-black curved dagger that glows with a yellow aura, a black orb of some unknown substance that appears to have black and blue smoke swirling within that turns blood red when held by its owner, and numerous pouches made from felcloth one which is etched in runes and carries the warlocks trademark soulstones.

Affiliation: Unknown

Description: Although the robe hides many of this enigmatic character's features, two deep red pinpoints glow from within the hood shedding a small amount of light on a mouth that is opened in a smirk, several pointed black teeth can be seen. The robe about him is always flowing, as if blown by some otherworldly breeze, hiding his true figure, he can appear to be ghostly thin one moment and as large as his Voidwalker minion the next. The hands that protrude from his robe are of dark complexion and are covered in scars.

Backstory: All that is known of Arolyon is that he was found lying at the dark portal one blistering day in the Blasted Lands. He slowly made his way to Nethergarde keep where he was cared for by a beautiful priest. All memory of his past is unkown though he hears echoes of some great power hidden in the west and memories of Lord Illidan flood his head and the fall of the High Elves sweep upon him. Arolyon sets out alone in search of this great power to wield for himself and conquer any who stand in his way. He accepts company though distances himself from them even in their midst trusting no one.

ghazghull
12-12-2006, 06:04 AM
Well, it looks like ppl are still joining, and I haven't done an RP in ages, so I'll give it a go...
Name: Ghazghull
Gender: Male
Race: Night Elf
Class: Hunter

Equipment: Garbed in simple yet effective leather, Ghazghull strikes enemies from distance with a simple yet effective crossbow, surmounted by a gnomish-made scope. Almost uniquely, this character carries twin fighting claws for when his enemies get too close. These claws carry his sole concession to the overwhelming quantities of magic available in Azeroth, an enchantment to strike harder than his natural strength would normally allow.

Affiliation: No loyalty but to himself.

Description: A loner at heart, Ghazghull is a battle-scarred veteran, past his prime with the number of wounds he has suffered. Years of battle have cultured a cynical personality, and a natural dislike for the company of others. Unlike many hunters, Ghazghull never works with other people, and indeed does not even have a pet. His only care in the world is for his fellow hunter Nadrek, who sadly disappeared several months before the events afore mentioned. With Nadrek's disappearance, Ghazghull has withdrawn into himself, nursing a burning hatred for the injustice of the world and in particular the horde.

Backstory: A natural with all ranged weapons, Ghazghull was transformed from a carefree young elf into a bitter world-weary cynic over the course of a single night. His village was raided by trolls, and every elf in it was slaughtered, including his entire family. Ghazghull himself was wounded near fatally, yet had just enough strength to crawl under a from where he was struck down, where he remained, delirious, for 3 days and nights before a search party rescued him. The experience robbed him of his speech for a year, but he didn't care. During this time, he trained every aspect of the path of the hunter - stealth, accuracy, speed, and a wicked intellect that led to the trapping of many a stray horde. He regained his speech one night when he came across a troll, but one he recognised - this troll carried the scalp of his grandmother on his belt. It didn't stand a chance, and was slaughtered within a few seconds. The sating of his revenge pulled Ghazghull out of his cage, and he made his first and only friend later that night - Nadrek, who has also lost his family to a horde raid. The two stayed good friends for many years, never fighting together but always staying in contact. Recently, however, Nadrek disappeared, and Ghazghull immediately suspected the horde. Robbed of everything, Ghazghull seeks the Book of Souls to take his vengeance on the horde once and for all.

Izmae
23-12-2006, 06:53 PM
Hey guys  I joined the site to post my fan fic, but this looks too much fun to leave alone! Besides which, I have got to the point in my story which is waiting for the release of the Burning Crusade to continue, so this fits perfectly with where she is at the moment.

So this is my character...

Name: Izmae
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Class: Paladin

Equipment: Typical Paladin - plate  Nothing particularly notable about it. Skilled in most weapons, except for any kind of ranged ones (Basic engineering takes care of that problem  ) In this I plan to have her carry a 2 handed sword with a blue glow (icy chill enchant).

Appearance: Fairly young, mid 20's, dark hair tied up, dark eyes, various face piercings, fairly small in stature.

Affiliation: Devoted to the Light, currently banished from the Church for the suspected murder of Duthorian Rall (this is part of my story, if it conflicts with anything just shout and I can change it for this thread)

Backstory: Her parents were both accomplished priests of Stormwind Cathedral, her mother was away as a child to fight with the Alliance armies in various conflicts. Her father is the typical shadow priest gone power crazy, after growing up in the orphanage and later the Cathedral she discovers him in league with Scourge acolytes, Sylvanas and the forsaken (you name it he's done it kinda guy).

Since then she's always had an extremely acute sense of shadow magic and the undead for reasons explained soon in my story, but needless to say there's a little darkness in her. Not surprisingly this has not only made her completely devoted to the Light (even after being banished from the Church) but given her an extreme dislike and distrust of those wielding anything to do with shadow, and makes her a hard person to get to know.

She's recently returned from a battle in the Plaguelands fighting against Blightcaller with her newfound guild Night Sentinels, which also means she's just found her mother again. There's a lot more to find out but the mystery's all part of her.

If the death of Duthorian or Blightcaller conflicts with anything you were planning I can of course change it, and lets get started!

p.s. She's not an evil character by the way, killing Duthorian was a mercy killing, the "darkness" in her just means she's got a lot of internal conflict not that she's a little psychopath

Oh and one thing I forgot, in addition to the heightened senses towards shadow she often has disturbing dreams, mainly of spirits that died in the Scourge war.

Hmmm my dear friends, it seems as our dungeonmaster has left for warmer coasts. So shall we start this on our own? or just forget about the whole thing.
I want to see whos still interested in starting this, so I can see if we have enough.

I'd be more than happy to continue if we can get the lore to the story background straightened out

I'd still like to see where it leads. The premise could turn out to be quite fun

I think we might be able to. I will post a "RP" thread when I get time. And also a "OOC" thread so those who will actually participate can post their chars there. To get alittle structure to the while thing.

Hello!

My name is Larissa and I'm hoping that this RP is still going to happen. I'm new to the forums, but have some experience writing in this kind of format. I created two character, depending on how the game shapes up. I noticed that the other characters are mostly independent or Horde aligned, so it seems my first character will be the one I play. The second is based on one of my current alts, so I have a certain affection for her already  But I'm happy to play either!

Hope either are okay, and look forward to writing with you all!

Anneke
Race-Forsaken
Gender-Female
Class-Priestess
Equipment-Anneke wears simple grey robes, loose-fitting and allowing her to move freely and unimpeded. She carries a fashioned staff of light, dark metal with an ankh-like head and pointed end. Four chiming rings lie within the looped end, clinging together when the staff is moved. When casting, she plants it in the ground before her and focuses her power through it. The distinct sounds of the rings and her words empower her abilities.
Affiliation-Nominally Horde, but really holds no allegiance, except to perhaps Lady Sylvanus herself.
Description-Being undead, Anneke has lost the vibrancy of life. Her black hair now lies flat and lifeless down past her shoulders. She no longer has her eyes, and wears crossed straps across her face, covering the loss. Despite this, she can still see, though more in the sense that she can feel the presence of others, much as one would normally see. Her body has seen little degradation, killed by having her soul rended from her body rather than by more violent means.
Backstory-Anneke was a young woman answering her calling at a convent near her village, when Arthas and the Scourge swept through the area, killing all in his countless victories through Lordaran. Raised with her new purpose, she joined the Scourge army, mindlessly obeying and killing until the day Lady Sylvanus broke free from Arthas. It was during her time within the ranks of the Scourge that she was blinded, and her newfound abilities brought fourth, but she has no memory of this time, nor what dark arts were used upon her.
Of her own mind now, Anneke fought no longer, attempting to understand what she had become. She remembers her life before dying, and yet now her memories seemed more to her like a tale she heard, rather than a life she led. She feels as if she is not the same person now, a pale version of her once living self. She does not wallow in self-pity or depression, however, instead coming to terms with her fate and continuing along her path.
Blinded and yet not, some force within her compels her along paths she does not consciously know of. She does not know from where her abilities come, what source still powers her, nor where it is leading her.

Winterfire
Race-Gnome
Gender-Female
Class-Warrior
Equipment-Winterfire typically wears armour that is effective over looking nice, and will choose what's best for the situation (i.e. light armour for raids where stealth is required, heavier mail for upfront fights). She detests capes and anything else that dangles uselessly, lest they impair her fighting abilities.
Winterfire carries a variety of weapons, but most usually is equipped with a solid shield and sword, currently carrying a curved scimitar she found amongst the traitorous Defias. Slung across her shoulder she carries a silver-plated gun she fashioned herself, complete with aiming scope. A dagger she carries for emergency, and a pair of reinforced fighting gloves should things turn desperate. She also uses a heavy, two-handed hammer, but does not carry it into a fight unless using it as her primary weapon.
Affiliation-Alliance, though has serious doubts as to their effectiveness and dedication.
Description-Winterfire is a young gnome, but has hardened quickly in the years of war and destruction. She would be considered cute, even beautiful, if not for her constant scowling and pessimistic outlook. She wears her pale blue hair up and back in a pair of ponytails, and her pale blue eyes sometimes reflect a tragic sadness, when they are not hardened by anger.
She prefers cooler and muted colours such as blues, greys and blacks over brighter ones.
Backstory-Winter barely made it out of Gnomeregan when the city was devastated, and has grown bitter over that fact that virtually all her friends and family did not. The Trogg infestation of her beloved city has created an unreasoning hatred of the creatures, and little will hold her back from attacking one of these foes.
Training with the rest of the refugees, she had hopes that once they were ready, that the city of Gnomeregan would be taken back. Weeks and months passed by with little effort by the Alliance to do anything, and it eventually became clear to her that the Alliance had little interest in regaining the city, leaving it to mercenaries and fortune-hunters to mount raids into the beleaguered city.
Disheartened, she set out on her own, doing her own small part to alleviate the suffering and dangers that abounded. She travelled through the lands of both dwarf and human, and even braved the swamps of the Wetlands to venture to Darkshore. It was here that she heard of the Book of Souls, wailed by a half-crazed elven spirit in some long forgotten graveyard, wracked with torment at its undead existence. She is still unsure of any truth to what she heard, but if such an ancient tome existed, perhaps it would have the power to save her lost city?

Name - Kyra

Race - Human

Gender - Female

Class - Unknown - Can control Fire and Shadow.

Equipment - Faded Linnen robe, various cooking utensils, an in-ability to feel guilt remorse or regret.

Affiliation - None that she is aware off.

Description - Kyra is relativly young but her skin seems stretched and aged far beyond her years. No amount of sun can give colour to her pale complexion. Her hair is mundane, shoulder length and dull brown. Her eyes whilst wide seem almost grey. Her appearance is only really noticable as being unusualy dull and sickly.

Backstory - By all accounts Kyra is barely 1 year old. She was woken upon a beach near the outpost of Aerie peak some 11 months ago by a traveling fisherman and has no recollection of her life before that. Though retaining language skills and a comprehension of the world around her, Kyra is quiet and subdued at all times, like a scorned child. Though initially she was cared for by Trias, the man that found her, he has since taken her as a wife and is both overbearing and demanding.

Kyra feels nothing. She can stare into the eyes of a widow and feel no sense of sympathy or regret. In a recent outburst of frustration at the state of her life, she caused a small dog belonging to her neighbours child to catch fire and as she focused she was able to surround the pet in flames causing it a swift death. She has since learned that she can cause degrading sickness on others by feeding the shadows of the world around her into their soul, corrupting it. She does not understand her power, nor where it came from, but she is starting to suspect that she wound up on that beach for a reason relating to her 'gifts'. The only joy or satisfaction she takes in life is through the minor woes she causes others through her growing power.
