I introduced my Wife to Warcraft the other day and she is totally hooked. She is currently playing a L11 NE Druid. I have a 60 Lock, but I am starting a new character to level up with her. She is very very very green (newby) at warcraft for she has Never touched an online game before in her life. I need suggestions as to what class to play along side with her? So that we will make a good Fast leveling duo combo. Should I start a warrior, pally, rogue, hunter, mage, or priest?

The goal is to power level her as much as possible until the expansion comes out, hopefully upper 50's in three months. Then switch over to the warlock in January.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Always nice to get your s.o. interested in WoW - I've had similar success in that department as well, as my gf plays WoW quite a bit (60 Warrior + 40 Mage).

If your wife is set on playing Druid, I would recomment rolling a Rogue as her leveling-up companion. Druid + anything is a powerful combination, as the Druid can fill whatever role needs filling (tanking, healing, dps). Druid + Rogue is especially potent, as you can stealth through a lot of the areas in the game - eventually doing duo surgical strike runs on instance bosses.

Once your wife's Druid gets Cat form, I would think you can simply murder most non-elite targets using dps alone - no actual tanking or healing required.

The only drawback to a Rogue + Druid combo would possibly be competition for drops, as you'll both want Leather items. Druid + Mage would be my second choice.

Good luck :)

DPS class + healing class always rule.

Both druid can own, you both can tank/DPS/heal.

Great points Loriel. I was going to suggest rogue as well....except the whole loot thing. Way to think!

If you both get up high in levels, having the rogue/druid duo is fantastic. You could go through and duo so much together...from your MC attunement,to downing instance bosses....may add a whole new aspect to the game. Plus, very few druids go feral at endgame...unless they are PVPing. SO if she is intent to run endgame content (as it stands pre-bc) you will be wanting completly different gear.

A druid mage combo would work well too. You could AoE grind fairly efficiently....you run in and she heal you. And there wouldnt be too much competition for loot.

But, if you wanted a combo that would be really cool, you could roll a warrior.
That way, when you are looking for instance runs...you would already have the 2 hardest classes to find..healer and tank. No loot lust either...

All in all I would say either toll a rogue or another druid. Sure there would be loot lust....but who cares...shes your wife...she gets whatever she wants anyway!

No loot lust either...Yes, this is also a very good point - assuming you're not in a guild from which you can recruit tanks and other members for instance runs. I leveled a Priest/Warrior duo to 60 with my gf, and suffice to say we never had major problems finding groups.. We could issue the crown jewel of PuG recruitments - "LF3M for <some instance> - have healer and tank". The whispers came flying in :)

Thanks for the imput.

Loot will not be an issue, for we have more gold than we can possibly spend (I love alchemy). I am not going over board on gold twinking, just a couple weapons here and there.

What about druid/war combo? Perhaps we can do some of the lower instances together.

Thoughts on Hunter?

Hmm, you should be a warlock, and she can be your succubus. Oh wait, you meant IN THE GAME. Sorry. =)

Yeah, I agree with rogue being a solid choice. And I'm sure the 2 of you can work out who gets what gear. Early game a lot of good stuff is crafted anyway.

Two druids is a lot of fun. Both of you stealthing and ambushing a target mob at the same time is great. Plus, you get around the world faster at a low level.

I'd probably advise against tanking as a druid. Though it certainly is possible (and can be fun in itself) it's not where the class shines. You'll enjoy cat-form way too much.

Another advantage to both of you playing the same class is you can teach each other more about the class. Yeah, you'll "compete" for loot at times, but you'll almost always be in competition with someone. I wouldn't let that stop me.

Two of anything is fun. My fiancee and I have played two hunters and paladins. Mumbler and Bumbler the dwarven hunters with porkchop and hamhock the boars was good times. Right now we're Lancelott and Adalaide, triumphing over evil. :) (No we don't role play, but I always got a little smile to see two pigs charging a target.)

World PVP was great too. We would just dominate solo players. Of course, someone better geared and higher level would still kill us occasionally. It was fun to take down ?? players in good gear. Yes, ganking horde with the S.O. is awesome. I don't care what classes you pick. I recommend it. If the two of you can stealth; so much the better.

Gealach, she is already my Succubus. Looks amazing similar to my pet. Tall, shaply, with long black hair. She loves it, when my succubus slaps her ass.

Yep...if I am looking for doing a PUG instance I will wait for something like that before I say Im in....I dont know how many times I have waited around at the entrance to scholo or strat becuase no tank or healer.

You asked about hunters...Wouldnt be bad...wouldn't be good. There is not all that much that compliments hunters and druids together. On a side note...you COULD do that whole stealth bit....but by running through and Feigning death every soo often.

Because of the Druids versitality, you could be almost anything and still do well.

But I'd wager that Rogue/Ferel Specced kitty druid would be an insane combo, mainly because you could tear down enemies at fast speeds, even elites, and elite bosses, now granted you'd probably have a little down time, jsut make sure that one of you knows alchemy.

But you'd want to make sure that your wife's druid is a Ferel/Resto spec, as two rogue like chars in a 5-man isn't wanted. Eats up valuable spacing, and most people will 99% of the time ask that the druid go healing, especially if they can't find a priest or shammie or a Healing Druid. Example: My friend's druid is a I think, Ferel/Balance/Resto, the focus being Ferel. He winds up healing more often then Tanking, off-tanking, or Melee DPSing in Raids.

Goddamn. Now I'm depressed that I don't have paid time for WoW right now.
