It was confirmed today by a blue that patch 2.0 will come out before TBC. This will contain version 2.0 of the client, the new talents, honor system etc. It's the part of the expansion pack which is needed for the non-xpack people to continue playing =].
It sounds like it's coming out in the november/december timeframe because one of the blues said it'd be around to play for the holidays.

Thanks for the reply at least thats some good news!
Also when you say new talents do you mean the level 60+ new talents from the TBC website? I thought blizzard said that people who don't get TBC wont be able to level up past 60, and wont get the new spells/talents?

we wont be able to get past 60.. but the talents will be updated
(there are new and updated talents that are available to us pre xpac.)

Oh I didn't realize there are going to be new pre 60 spells, is there a list somewhere because at the official website they only have new 60+ spells

Mostly the new pre 60 spells are just talent based ones plus a paladin thing or 2. Most of the good stuff is post-60.

All talents are available to any player I think, just that you only have 51 points to spend, not 61. Meaning you can get a 41/10/0 build of sorts, but not the full use.

It might well be that we have a month with the new talents before BC, I suppose. Should be good news and good fun for all of us (what with the new condensed druid talents, I'd love to spend the last month before BC with access to the new talent trees, even with only 51 points to spend in them).

Ok, one more time with feeling...
What it seems that people are expecting is another content patch that is independant of the expansion. More specifically, a lot of folks seem to be looking for a free content patch, should they choose not to purchase the expansion.
This is not happening. Therefore, the EU CM is correct in saying there will be no 1.13. We will not be patching the original version of WoW any further.
What we are doing is upgrading the game client to 2.0. This is what happens in an expansion.
The patch 2.0 is going to prepare for the expansion. We will release more specifics about what is in that at a later time. For now, consider it as the patch that allows players who don't have the expansion to keep playing with players who do. If we were to fully upgrade to expansion, players who did not get the expansion on release day would be shafted until such a time as they upgraded. We do not want this, so we have a prepatory patch which will bridge between the two versions of WoW.
Therefore, patch 2.0 will be released shortly prior to the release of expansion boxes. There will be no patch 1.13.
So this can go either way. Wouldn't be surprised if they release this content patch only a few weeks before BC. :undecided:
There it is..fresh from the beta buzz / news section of the forums...

Blizzard's European site still seems to think that there'll be a 1.13 patch

I guess time will tell.

Was guessing they'd do something like this. Just a patch to make the Non X-Pack people recognize the X-Pack stuff.

If I'm understanding what I just read correctly, one big BIG plus is that if this patch is going to contain the 2.0 client it will give modders a little more time to have some stuff updated and ready to go when the game is released. :D

so that means NO PVP honor changes and NO talent changes at all?

I'm fairly sure that there will be pvp changes and talent changes in the 2.0 patch.
