There's a single reason I might waste hundreds of $$$ on these...

"Reward #3: A reusable trinket that changes your in-game appearance to an ogre"

YOU CAN GET A REUSABLE TRINKET TO TURN YOU INTO AN OGRE!!! And to think every week I've been wasting 30-50g on an Ogre Suit (usable only once and I'm too lazy to go to DM to get my own). I love Ogres!!!

The only other thing I'm interested in is the Turtle Mount.

I've read the entire article twice, but i still don't understand what are those cards? Is it something you find in game during questing? Or is it something you just buy as a lottery ticket online or some store for real money, and hope for a good price? :ponder:

Some cards have a prize directly on them (with a code you have to give to someone in WoW). These prizes include a Tabard, Turtle Mount and Hyppogryph Pet.

Some rewards can only be given by using points. You get 100 points per pack (dunno what size) and can spend them online for WoW items (which I guess give you other codes to give to someone in game).

well, that's what it says in the article, but WHERE do I get them cards?

It might be hard to find 'em for a few days. After that just almost any store where you'd find Magic or Pokemon cards probably. Online always works.

I saw the guy you give the codes to in Booty Bay and wondered about it. Might have to splurge on a couple packs to see if I get anything good.

Icekiss, It's a completely unrelated game.

It's a cardgame based on WOW that you play with your friends, face to face, shuffling and dealings cards as you would with poker.

However, in the packs you can find special cards with little codes on them that give goodies in the online WOW game.
I suspect it is to make WOW fans pour out their moneys to get the goodies and getting hooked on the card game in the process. ;)

I plan to treat the cards like I would the lottery. I’ll drop a few dollars every now and then and hope I get lucky. I have no interest in the game itself. I tried Magic the Gathering when it first came out. I played for about a month and then completely lost interest. Its just not style of gaming. But I love in game toys, so the evil geniuses at Blizzard will manage to suck more money from me. *smiles*

From what I understand, there will be different “sets” of cards released. And each set will have new prizes. So if you want the tabard, the turtle mount or the hippogriff pet then you need to buy cards from this “set.” Eventually Blizzard will release a new set with new prizes. I expect the rewards we spend our points on will eventually change as well. But I have no idea if they will be on the same schedule.

I’d love to have the turtle and hippogriff pet. So I expect if I get anything it’ll be the tabard. My luck isn’t usually very good. And I would like to have the ogre trinket. So it’s something to shoot for. I just hope we don’t have to buy $100 worth of cards to get enough points to get the trinket.

What really sucks is that each of these items is only good for one character. So be very sure which character you want to give an item to.

the turtle mount isn't a regular mount, when mounted you move same speed as you do when runing on foot, it's like giant green shelled shoes in that respect

I tried downloading the trial decks, but the site is overloaded I think :-/ Big fan of TGC here, so if it's decent I'm surely going to play it for a while :)

Too bad the game looks sucky. It's friggin' raid based. RAID BASED!!! I think they should have just made it based off the Warcraft RTS games instead of WoW... Using buildings and armies would have owned. Instead we get crap like "Undead Rogue" cards and have to friggin' equip them with teirs of gear. I already play WoW!

I've printed out and tried the demo deck, and it's a good game. Now, I'm no great fan of tradable card game, but this is one of the better ones I've tried (I've played 9 different ones, and WOW gets in the top 3 list).
The rules are simple enough yet they still have enough variation to create different strategies even if you use the same deck each time.

Just keep in mind that this is based on the DEMO deck, not the full game itself.
