View Full Version : How does the AB exalted grind compare to the AV grind?

So, AV neutral -> exalted might be considered achievable in 24h of playing post 1.12.

My question is: how does the AB grind compare to this? Does anyone know how many hours I'd be looking at if I was grinding AB neutral -> exalted in pugs? I'm horde, and we win most AB pugs on my server.

1 more question: if a game is going to be a long one in which I'd ultimtely lose (e.g. 30 min, and something like 1850vs2000 res), will I get more rep/h by staying in the game and losing or AFK'ing and requeueing after the deserter debuff fades, hopefully winning the next match?

AV is much easier than AB anyway you look at it.

and i have always just stuck games out, even if you are gonna loose... it prolly balances out in the end tho...

Premade is the king of pvp

I'm not sure if I stepped in front of a black cat but last night was the worst AV night for the allience on Azsune, I lost just about every one I signed up to, which was about 6 in the end, and 4 out of them I came in right at the end, AAAHHHHH!!!!! Narks me off just thinking about it!! and I swear is was the same horde group every time, Pffft Cross server pvp my ass!!!

on my server - we never win AV so even though the rep usually goes quicker they just aren't fun.
AB takes much longer but we win more often so I don't mind playing it.
Only 8k for exalted with frostwolf but I just know I won't enjoy it when I am there so keep putting it off.

I don't see how we can win 90+% of AB games and lose 99% of AV games :(

Yeah strange that, in all the BG's I've been in (alot) The horde always wins AB and WSG but AV is a strange one! From what I've seen every time I do AV it doesn't take long for the horde to get to our boss but it takes them forever to kill him, most of the time it give us the time to take horde boss thus we win 90% of the time. when I'm not having a bad night like last night, AV win takes about 20 - 30 mins but on a bad night a win for the horde would take about 1 - 2 and half hours. :ponder:

It really depends on how much play time you can get in. I was able to have about 8 or so hours on Monday to play, this is during the day and managed to get around 1.2k honour with AB.
This was because there were still 20-25min queues and games lasting around 20-25 mins.
From say 5pm till 12pm you could probably get around 10 games i reckon, including queues and actualy play time. Thats about 1.5k Honour.
You can do the maths and see how long at that rate it would take from neutral to exlated.

(All figures are loosly based on personal experience)

I hope you mean 1.2k REP

1.2k honor is less than one game...

On my server, AV is tough on Horde. There are just too many terrain and NPC advantages to the alliance (swiss cheese terrain for frostwolf base and aggro NPC's in direct path to alliance aid station). AV for the horde is won or lost at Galv. If we hold them at Galv until SP caps, we usually win. Otherwise, we lose.
