How does everyone feel about all the old 40 mans being useless in tbc. I mean from what I have been reading Naxx is basicly the new Molten Core of World Of Warcraft. What is everyone esles opinion? I mean get around level 65 get some good blues and greens that are really good and Naxx is easy. I mean tehres green daggers that make Perd blade like a joke.

I for one will be glad I finally might be able to set foot in there with a L60+ char with only blues on.

Without TBC I doubt I'd ever see the inside of it... due to my schedule not permitting (lots of) raids...

Even my brother who has 60+ days of /played on his warrior is still in BWL (I think he's halfway).

We've shifted focus to Naxxramas, trying to see as much of the place as possible before the expansion. Going back in there in the expansion to finish bosses we didn't have the time to learn is quite likely.
Sadly it won't be remotely as challenging as it is when done properly, but it will be nice to see all the encounters, just for the fun of it (and to complete Ateish perhaps  ).

I just hope they with time will redo MC, BWL, AQ, Naxx to fit with the 25 man cap and lvl 70 limit. Add difficulty settings for lvl 60, 65 and 70 or somethng. Waste of development time making them fully obsolete, which is how it is now.

On topic, I have slightly mixed feelings about the current raid instance being put on the shelf and replaced by the new lvl 70 ones. OTOH, I think it's a bit sad that I'll probably never get to see AQ40 and Naxx the way they were intended (i.e. at lvl 60 in T2/T2.5 gear), but then again my real life schedule never allowed me to push that hard with raiding anyway. So yeah, overall I think it's a good thing as I will then get to see these places and experience the encounters.

Looking beyond just myself, though, I also think it's healthy for the WoW community to get some new instances and fresh challenges. MC has been the way it is now for 18+ months or so, and even BWL has been around for a while. The only instance which in some sense becomes obsolete almost immedialtely would be Naxxramas, but I think people will still want to go there. Bottom line - the current raid instances have done what they are supposed to, so it's time to move on.

Regarding the suggestion to redesign MC, BWL, AQ and Naxx to fit the new 25 man cap ... ehh, I think that would make it a bit tricky for lvl 60s who don't get the expansion. I'm pretty sure Blizz don't want to alienate the part of the population that will stay at lvl 60, so I don't think they will touch the player cap nor the instance reset timers. I do think, however, that Blizz at some point will retrofit them with lvl 70 loot (and 70+ bosses), to allow lvl 70 players to re-run them for appropriate rewards.

As I mentioned in some other thread, WoW currently has 7 raid encounters/instances, and the Burning Crusade will add 7 new ones. That is a pretty substantial chunk of raiding content, and assuming Blizzard will retrofit the old instances, lvl 70 players will have 14 raids to choose from. There's only a limited time in a guild's raiding calendar (and also in players' real life calenders..), so it will probably be a while before the old instances are remade.

Don't misunderstand TBC; MC, BWL, and Naxx are far from useless, the latter especially. The Legendary version of Ashbringer (level 70) can only be gotten from Naxx, and through a series of quests afterwards. MC and BWL won't be abandoned; they'll just be farmed. The gear that drops in there is no more useless than the gear you get in BRD, or ST, or ZF. You'll just be replacing it in a few levels.

Eventually they will all get a revamp, much like EQ did with old world levels after many expansions.

It might take a while, but it will happen.
