View Full Version : Fastest Attainable Run Speed?

I know about quickness potions, rogues sprinting, and the runspeed trinket. My question is about sustainable, permanent run speed.
What is the fastest? A Paladin with Pursuit of Justice? (8%) or is the run speed enchant faster? What about the Arathi Basin boots with the run speed? Can any of these stack? Is it something else I haven't thought of?

The run speed boots, run speed enchant and pursuit of justice are all 8% increase and none of them stack.

I'd go with the enchant ftw then, totally.

Put the enchant on Gnomish Rocket Boots. Constant speed + burst speed at times. :)
Goblin Rocket Boots are faster, but explode at the end of thier life (item actually breaks). Gnomish ones just fizzle out with a cooldown.

Best sustainable run speed is Hunter Aspect of the Cheetah, Druid travelform, or Shammy travleform. All +40%.

Cheetah is 30% or 36% with talents. Not 40. Check your facts before posting.

Best attainable speed is Druid in Travelform with the PvP set bonus.
161% speed, or equal to a normal mount.

My mistake. I use a speed monitoring mod that apparently reports it as 40%.

If you run the flag a lot and aren't a shaman or druid, then get the gnomish rocket boots (need engineering as a profession) and the boots of swiftness (a crafted leather item). Put the speed enchant on both of them. They don't share a timer, so you will have two +40% boots to alternate with in WSG for flag running.

Swiftness potion and nifty stopwatch also a nice combo

Um Lord, the Druid CAT form, which is the DPS rogue form, is 30% increase in speed with talents.
The druid TRAVEL form(cheetah(Cheater?)), is 40% increase same as ghost puppy and the hunter aspect.

And there is a buff from Camp Taurojo of 15 minutes of 40% run speed increase.

hunters only get 38% with pathfinding... and extra 8% on mount with animal handler
i dont know where you are getting 40% or 36% for hunters speed...but its a little off ;)

Aspect of Cheetah and Aspect of Pack only increase by 30%, plus a little bonus from talents if you so choose.
The problem with the Hunter boost is if you get hit you're AUTOMATICALLY dazed and will always be dazed whenever you are hit and will never not be dazed until you drop Aspect of the Cheetah/Pack or until the enemy breaks away.

Ok, let me ask this question, specificly:
For my Rogue, what is the best option for sustained and burst speed?
Boots + enchant + prep?
For my Priest?
He's not engineering, so just...enchant and boots?

I play a mage and am looking to focus on PvP. I imagine this would be pretty helpful. There are minor run-speed gems also aren't there?
Edit: I did a quick search and learned that there are 3 meta-gems that all increase run speed by 8% along with another stat increase depending on the gem. I think i'll be going after this when the time comes.
Before anyone asks, these types of gems are "unique" and do not stack with any other speed increase.

doesnt travel form + boot enchant + pvp set bonus all stack?

The boot enchant doesn't stack with travel form. Besides, druids win hands down with flight form. Sure it's not actually "running", but it's instant cast, and can be done while running. And it's a 60% boost.
