so ultimate noob question.... i thought i was joining a group to do VC and i accidentally joined a guild... how do i get out of it?

I think there is also a button if you go to social menu and click the guild tab at the bottom there should be a button to leave.

Right click on ur name and then left clcik on the option 'leave guild'

All guilds more or less start out that way. My guild is the oldest active guild on our server and I was asked to join it initially in a random tell over a year ago... and asked again after a ZF run when I was still leveling my hunter a little bit later. (didn't because I liked the guild I was in at the time)

Ultimately I ended up joining with my lock about 6-7 months later... It just depends on what you want to do as part of a guild and how patient you are. If you are looking for community and just some friends to pal around with in game then there is no problem you can easily luck into a good guild. Just realize that any guild inviting random people like that are just getting started for the most part so if you were wanting to get into raiding that is going to be months and months down the line most likely.

Any guild who invites you without even speaking to you is also most likely to kick you out without talking to you or even better, disbanding. Usually run by dim witted teenagers... who think good guilds have 400+ members lvl 10-25.

Also, Guilds who do this sort of thing usually end up with lowbies in every city running around begging for money, not knowing what to do next. (ex: Anarchy Ninety Nine on Andorhal - Horde)

Who said they didn't speak to him? All I'm saying is I bet a lot of your uber leet guilds started off in a similar way... taking all comers. I swear there are so many WoW snobs it's ridiculous. You have to get started somewhere... and there is nothing wrong with open recruiting. No one is saying sell your soul to the guild... but if he's unguilded currently then there is no harm in seeing where it goes. I mean the guy is running Deadmines for god's sake and he didn't know how to leave the guild. Not a knock against him at all, but he's obviously pretty new to the game and won't be raiding for a good long while.

Most guilds will never make it to raiding status but believe it or not there are people who would actually rather build something from it's foundation than latch onto a guild that already has BWL on farm or get a bunch of random castoffs from other established raiding guilds break off and start their own.

he never said that is the way he was invited.

and it is completely beside the point. Luckenbach1 sounds like a new player, so i tried to encourage him to learn the social aspects of the game early, cause that is what decides in the end if you still play after a year or two. Well it is for me, anyway.

so stop the bickering and give some sensible advise.
