I have to say I'm quite disappointed with the Darkmoon Faire event. What it really is? Just another set of repeatable quests, and borring ones at that.

Time after the time after the time i keep supplying Copper modulators and whirling gizmos for some mysterious attraction that never comes to existance.

Time after the time after the time I keep supplying heavy objects for that lady who never actually begins to lift those weights and looks like she never could even (could've at least picked the ork, would look much more believable).

And so on, it's all just quests, and to make it even worse, it's the ones that you mostly complete at Auction House if you're not a Blacksmith or Engineer.

After you get familiar with it, it has no flavour of a Faire anymore. I mean where is the excitement? Where is entertainment? The rewards you can get are good, no argue in that, but how about making a totally different way of earning them? there could be introdused fairly easily-implementable and much more entertaining events. For a refference you don't have to go far, just look at the medieval games. Here are a couple of examples that could be easily implemented i think:

1) two or more thin long horisontal poles are standing, and across them heavy objects are flying - axes, huge bags of sand, and so on. Your task is to run across the pole avoiding the flying objects while compeeting with one or more players for speed.

2) On a sertain area there are little "flags" scattered. You and another person enter this area and you compete for gathering the biggest number of these flags over a short period of time. the two of you may be in a same area, or it could be two sepparated by ribbon/gate/whatever areas.

3) this one would be good for only those who have mounts.
On a long stretch of a road there are poles that hold hanging flags, these flags are plased at such a hight that they can only be reached by player's head when he makes his mount jump. Your goal is to ride on your mount and try to touch as many flags as possible, to make this even more challenging, the flags might be moving slightly from side to side, or maybe even up and down. EDIT: After i thought about it a bit more, I can see how Tauren on his mount mught be just the hight of a mormal mount jumping up. This however may be fixed by giving players equal mounts just for a durration of the contest, this way even those who have not yet reached the level to buy a mount could still partisipate.

4) pulling of a rope. Would require two teams. The winning would require correct pressing of left and right arrow keys from the members of the team. It would require an indicator which would show either you're pressing too hard, or to little. I remember seing this one on some other online game, I don't remember which one, i only remember it being lots of fun :)

More such events could be created, one just needs to sit down and think for a while. These events could be revodred by tickets just as quests, judging by the numder of objectives you've sucsessfuly completed.

Don't you think it would make the Faire a much more exciting and anticipated event?

Besides, add there a bunch of visual events, such as jugolers(spelling?), dancers, animal tamers that would actually have their animals DO something fun and funny, and not just walk around with stupid boring ogre in tow. And fireworks, let there be fireworks!

Let there be real merryment as we see it in the movies and on the illustrations of fairy-tale books

How about just adding more rewards like new mounts and stuff? Or different qeusts I mean some people are different at things so why dont they just put more qeusts in so more people would be good at earning tickets

Probably would be a good idea... the only thing I find worth it from the Darkmoone faire are the buffs (which require zero effort) and the orb of the darkmoon other than that... why bother?

Adding new mounts would be awesome! Yet my point was that the fair itself has no feel of a fair at all, why not introduse something completely different from the usual grinding?
