I just have one question why has everyone stopped raiding stormwind and other cities, i think that is the most fun in the game and probably why i started playing wow.

When full sized raid tries to raid a large city like IF or SW, the server can't handle it and crashes. Thought might be I remember it wrong, but I think I read somewhere that is the reason big raids aren't made to capital cities.

Dishonrable kills, repair bills.
Blizz killed it with those

I don't think the DKs really have anything to do with it. The problem is the lag. It's always been next to impossible to do anything in real time in some of the cities (especially the alliance cities) during high to mid traffic hours on servers. Once they added the instantly and continuously respawning elites to the mix it mad things completely unnavigable. It's just a chore to make it to the throne room and a lot of times the server will crash.

I reckon a good idea would be to kite, something almost unstoppable to one of the major cities before your raid.

Then you would have that as a bonus + your raid as long as you stayed away from it.

Yes, Linch, and then get banned. :) So much fun!

I agree, though. I would LOVE to see major city raids become a reality--a full scale war would be even better. One of the leftovers from SW:G that I kind of wish would be integrated into WoW... how great would it be to invade Undercity or SW and hold it hostage?

But like people have mentioned, raiding cities tends to lead to crashes, etc.. Plus, the fact that guards spawn infinitely is just ridiculous... if you've ever seen Teremus kited to SW Keep, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I doubt you would get banned.

Kiting mobs into your own city I could understand (griefing), but using it to fight another city (war)............

Anyway on my server dragons get pulled into org almost everyday, nothing seems to get done about it.

There's quite a famous movie around where people kited Lord Kazzak into stormwind, if you don't kill him in a certain time frame he goes berserk and kills everything around him.

I should also add, when ever Kazzak kills a player/pet/totem he heals him self for 70,000 health

In the end the GMs had to despawn him

I've heard that you can get a warning for kiting things like that to a city

There's a few of them on google videos if you want to go find them.

The whole group who kited him was banned :(

Well we have joined a guild who is going to raid smaller towns so that people canīt enter them for quest and so on the cities will probably be south shore stv and maybe gadgetzan ;) love to mess with people levling haha

On Elune, an alliance raid tried to kill the leader in each of the 3 horde cities.

They got Bloodhoof in Thunder Bluff and Thrall in Org, but were teh fail in UC.

Dont know if there were consequences? I wouldnt think there would be, but I dunno.

Why is it that Horde cities are easier to attack than Alliance cities? I mean, if you enter through the back door of Orgrimmar or Undercity you have pretty much a clear path to the inner sanctum where the Big Boss is.

If you enter through the Tram in Ironforge you have to deal with Mekkatorque since he'll come at you, not to mention a bazillion guards spawning.

Same thing if you enter through tram into Stormwind. ... okay maybe not. But getting to Bolvar is a pain, I can imagine. Every guard and their mother would be after you. :)

SW is nearly impossible to get to the king because of the patrols and crazy respawn times...worth a try though.

About this time last year on european Laughing Skull the horde took over the tram. That was ace - I'm alliance - but t was cool and lasted like 3 or 4 hours. I don't know how they got into the tram - I was at Auction house - so I assume they must have gone in through stormwind.

And other cool and frequent occurances were when horde attacked Dark Shire from STV.

And then less well organised were the raids on Southshore.

As far as I could tell the alliance didn't really do much of that sort of thing!!!

Ohhh well - those were the days!
