Me and some of my guild mates took our alts through Scarlet Monastery last week and we totally rock'd, not a single death, not even close to one.
The party concisted of my level 40 Shadow Priest, 40 Holy Priest, 40 Mage and 2 * 36 Mages. Most enemy mobs where 3 or 4 man so I Pulled one and the Mages sheeped the others.
I was wondering what's the coolest instance anyone else has ever run with a non standard group?
I loved my shadow Priest in these situations. On this run I was able to tank so I topped the damage meter for damage taken, I came 2nd on the damage done meter and i did 33% of the all the healing.

Last nigh a WC run we only had 4 members. 22 mage 17 mage 21 priest an me 21 rogue. A mage would pull with me stealthed in the middle and I would ambush as it came through me and try and get aggro if not they would take turns with frost nova. We didn't wipe until Verdin the everliving.

He hits like a mother for the level you face him at.

Yea I am wondering why he is even in that instance. Good thing he doesn't drop one of the gems you need for the quest. He is definatly not being tanked by a rogue.

I did SM with my lvl 36 Shadow priest, another shadow priest and 3 warlocks.. none of us were over 38 and absolutly destroyed the place..
I would like to try the same when I get to 60 with a similar group
We ddn't down the final bosses in the cath though but it was great fun

Strat baron with shadow priest druid dps warrior hunter and pally
From the classes it could function as a normal group but actually the warrior and priest merely competed for dmg and we didnt need to hold anything for long enough for a tank and spank. started as a random group - entered the barons chamber 46mins later (sooo close)
I agree Tiddly, my best SM run was also with 3 locks - it was sick. I was playing a shadow priest and we also had a hunter in the party, all about level 38 or so.

I did SM Armory the other night with 5 shammies all between 36-39 (i was 38) that was the funnest run i've ever done. We also ran library and then armory again just for fun and not one of us died the whole time.

Me (priest) with 4 locks slaying everything in DM.
Doing the warlock steed quest with 3 locks. each one would enslave a felguard. Makes the quest easy peasy. Craploads of dps on those as we'll find out in TBC.
Me in shadowform, another priest healing, warrior and 2 others, laying waste to scholo and strat. Every time i've done the baron in shadowform he was easy. Whenever I go in trying to kill him as the MH it's hard :)

When I hit level 40 with my shadow priest, I took one Saturday morning and soloed SM graveyard and Library to get the gold for my level 40 mount. I'd take the drops and vendor them. I didn't kill Doan but everything else went down.

Have had a few interesting groups. Once went through SM with 2 locks (me as one of them), a rogue, a mage and a warrior. The locks were on heal/rez duty :D (healthstones and soulstones).
Wasn't an instance, but me and 4 mages were AoE grinding in WPL a week or two ago. And DAMN was that the most fun I have ever had in a group.
Did SM a few times with a mage, a shadow priest, myself (lock) and a warrior too. Quite enjoyable.
Also ran through BRD last night with me, 2 70 hunters, a 66 warrior, a 70 lock and myself (currently at 57). I was the only one that kept dying, and we wiped once, but in all was fun. Think we spent 4 hours + in there getting quests done.

5 rogues lvl 18-22 ...deadmines run :)
5 hunters lvl 48-50 zul'farak
4 hunters and a rogue lv 43-51 uldaman
who needs heals when you got DPS :)
most mobs only lasted 3-5 seconds with the all hunter group and maybe half a second longer with the rogue.

The hunters in my raid guild run 5-mans with just themselves quite frequently. They think it creates some sort of "hunter cohesion", but I think they just like to blow away 5 mans with their epix.

the few times my priest was holy specced...i did BRD Jailbreak with 4 mages...
We all just ran in AoEing the entire place and it was by far the easiest time i've ever had in there.
Did many of Scholo/Strat with 2 Shadowpriests(one being me) than a rogue/hunter/warrior and it was all DPS...Vamp Embrace for the healing. Easy easy.
Best ive read about, was 2 19 Twinks soloing Deadmines

Yeah i ended up in a group for SM Lib and Cath the other day that was awesome fun. Me (a 38 Rogue) 2 Priests and 2 Mages. I tankd and had the time of my life :). Man I found it hard to pull the aggro. Plan was me stealthed halfway between group and creeps. Pull one, sheep the other one or two. cheap shot was used and kidney shot by me. Loving it! if there was 4 i'd chuck in a sap to even things up.
Good Fun.

I having a go at doing an SM run duoing a Shammy and a druid, at 37.
Apparently the Shammy I'm grouping with has done it before, Shammy and Druid and cleared all 4 sides - it took a while though... lol
Should be fun - we duo'd WC at 22 and had a blast - cleared the place too! SM will be a step up, but we're going to have a run thorugh UD and Library to see how we get on...

>1 mage can make a lot of encounters cake walk... every sheep severely reduces the difficulty.
DPS can nicely focus on once target instead of spreading the dmg allaround.
Really, any group with all mages and maybe one healer is gonna rock vs sheepable targets. Frost Nova, Mana Shield, frost talents, Cone of Cold-kiting makes short work out of a lot of things :)

5 hunters do much of the same via kite + icetrap party. Its pretty hillarious.
On some bosses though its just hillarious. Completely solod the last boss of scholo as well as the boss right before while 2 rogues did in the adds.

As a matter of fact, just last night, I had a very fun SM run, with a slightly unconventional group, starting with our tank. Seeing as we had all of one non-cloth wearer, the poor elemental/resto shammie who was the lowest level in the group got to tank (dinged 38, catching up with the rest of us just before the Mograine fight). And he did quite well. In fact, he was usually #1, sometimes #2 on the damage meters. Two warlocks, both affliction, so we didn't do well on the damage meters until we hit the bosses. One shadow priest, and one discipline priest.
Herod was the only fight that was at all challenging, and the only time we lost anyone. I wound up drain-tanking Herod for his last 15% of health because he chewed his way threw both the shaman and the other warlock, then the moment he hit the ground, I ran back to the top of the stairs to greet the spawn with an explosive sheep, an advanced targeting dummy, and hellfire.
The Cathedral fight was very educational. I learned that there is such a thing as too many DoTs. We take down Mograine, Whitemane charges out, and we all cut loose on her. I'm standing near Mograine, between him and Whitemane, and drop a goblin land mine, just to see if she'll trigger it when she rezzes Mograine.
She takes enough damage that she puts us all to sleep, and runs over to Mograine (right past the land mine, which was also doing the "ZZzzzz" animation *snicker*). Just as she gets to Mograine, she drops dead. Apparently, having that many DoTs on her was too much.
We all cheered. Until someone noticed that since Mograine didn't get rezzed, we didn't kill him the second time, so we can't loot him and didn't get kill credit.
Well, at least I learned that land mines can be put to sleep, and had a blast the whole time.

Hehe. I did this the first time I solo'd SM at 60. I was going WTF??? (it had been a while since I did SM). Was kinda bummed but not much since my bags were full at that points anyway.

Just did lib / arm cath last night - 2 of us, 50 shammy and 48 pally. Was a blast. we cleared all three in just over an hour. The only mob we got experience for tho was mograine / whitemaine.
My big mistake was not bothering to clear cath... I never realised the whole place zergs you unless you clear first. So I just yelled out to my wife - we're going to die... lucky my reincarnate was off cooldown.
the screen was literally full of about 50 scarlet whatevers!
Oh well, now I know why we always did a full clear before!
I did get the ravagers helm of Herod - which is actually a better DPS helm than Helm of Exile (ST)... so that was a nice surprise!
