-first of all i apologise, this is most probably a repeat of some sort, but i couldnt understand the other posts, sorry!-
in BC the honour ranking is changing, i would like to know what is happening.
on this forum some people say the honour will be useless, others say otherwise.
my question is..... when the system changes, will the honour rank system be reset, so you can regin your rank after the change, and still reach rank 15?
or will the honour system become invalid. so we lose our rank period, - where we can't gain ranks again?
i hope people understood the questions, and could awnser as simply as possible so people like myself and others who are confused get the picture :P thanks

there are no ranks.
You get 12-15 honor per kill after the changes instead of 200-300 per kill right now.
Your honor point = a form of currency, as well as BG tokens from AB, WSG, AV...etc. You spend it to buy a pvp item.
pvp item require 15000 honor points and 20 ab tokens for example. At 15 honor points per kill, you need to kill 1000 people and get 20 AB token to buy. 1000 kills take about half of a week for some people, or 4 weeks for some people.

You will be able to display the highest rank achieved over your head for vanity's sake.
person posted above me had a much better description of the rest**

Most people appear to think two to four weeks.

And honestly, I love this change. Gives the casual players the chance to finally get their epic PVP gears without having to resort to mindless grinding for 90% of your day every week.
I suppose by BC, casual players can make a career in PVP. No more mindless, extra time consuming, beyond hardcore honor grinding.

Don't forget, there will still be ranks. They just won't be based on how much honor you have. Ranks will now be obtained by beating players more skilled than you.
Confusing?:
- Say after the patch we ALL start with 0 honor points and PvP rating 1500 (just to pick a number).
- If you were a Sergeant or a Stone Guard or something like that at that time you can still display that title if you want, you'll never lose it again.
- You join AB, WSG and whatever and you gain honor points.
- You won't ever lose your honor points, but you can "spend" them on rewards.
- Before you reach L70 your PvP rank doesn't change and all Arena-fights are practice-fights.
- At L70 you can do a real Arena-fight.
- If you win from a player with also a PvP-rating of 1500. You gain some rating and he loses some rating. Like you 1530 and he 1470.
- If you win from a player with a higher rating, like 3000, you gain more rating and he loses more. Like, you 1600, he 2900.
- The player with the highest rating gets the highest title.
This system rewards people for begin good PvP-ers, not because they camp Battlegrounds / Arena's day and night. In fact, the system is designed so that, if you fight too much, you might lose rating. Unless you win it all off course :).
I think it's better.

This is probably somewhere else, but are the arena fights 1-on-1 duels?
Any idea how you choose your opponents - meaning will you know whether they are higher or lower than you?
This format would seem to benefit the well equipped more than the strong pvp'er to some extent. Will be interesting either way.

I believe opponents are selected for you.

Yes, the system will look for opponents near your range first and broaden the search pattern the longer you are waiting.
I think another good thing is: Teams of the same faction can fight eachother. So if a server(group) is alliance-heavy for instance they'll start fighting eachother. I'm not sure of it though...
