I ask in earnest about the effects of TBC on current WoW dynamics.

I thinking the following:

- Guilds breaking up over current raiding and progression in leveling.
- AH prices increase for low level items (new people leveling skills) and Price drop for currently rare mats (Higher level zones more abundant in rare stuff).
- Further desparity btween noobies and current players.

Even now I hear guilds have lost progression due to the fact that most of the gear may be considered "twink" gear for 60's.

Thoughts...

Guilds evolve alot anyway.....Not sure why they would break up over CURRENT raiding and progression...

Pls explain.

Price spikes in some items for a short time...Not sure what things you weere thinking of for the currently rare mats...Explain...heh

- Further desparity btween noobies and current players.

Is that a problem?

Lose progression? How would someone LOSe progression because of gear being a twink piece?

I'm missing your point...and how you arrived at your conclusions...heh

Yeah I see that as exactly what will happen. The two biggest alliance guilds on my server have already called a cease to all guild sponsored raiding. As soon as that badboy hits there will be a race to lvl 70 and you'll see main raid forces being made up of the first groups of players to make it to that level... Some leaving their guilds because they have outpaced everyone and are ready to join others who are on their same pace... and others who end up leaving because they can't keep pace with the majority of their guild and end up on the outside looking in for end game raid content.

I'm personally starting to liquidate all my supplies as they aren't going to have any use... and I will need to clear bank space for new mats. I will keep a good amount of my higher level mats in order to make sure I can level my trades smoothly off of old patterns to get a jump start on my skill ups... but other than that... everything must go.

I think you'll see an almost total new game. New talent points, a ton of things work differently.... Large guilds broken up due to the 25 man limit on the new high end dungeons.. The race to 70 and to find other 70's to hit the new dungeons.
The gear reset..

I think it will be massive chaos the first few weeks.. Friends list FTW!

I'm thinking he means that guilds are no longer burning gold on repair bills and consumables on learning content they have not yet mastered because of the more or less gear reset that will occur when the expansion hits. Therefore guilds are no longer progressing and merely farming instances they already have a mastery of.

There are basically two type of wow players. The people who like the 1-60 leveling, and the people who like the raiding (it's a gray area, so people like both =). There are a certain amount of the first set of people who are raiding because there is nothing else to do. They already have 5-10 60s of all races and classes. They're raiding because its different.

These are the people raiding guilds are going to lose. They'll head back to the leveling process for their main and alts in the outlands.

In my guild, I suspect we're gonna lose about 1/4 of the ppl to this.

I figure most endgame raiding guilds will have a period where they'll turn into a leveling guild. Everyone says they'll still raid on the weekends, but once they're getting better greens in the outlands than the epics in the raiding, they'll give up. Once we all hit 70, we'll get back together, and pwn the instance in the sky (I'm checkin' it out at 68 =).

As for the AH, I suspect the current hot items will take a nose dive, and new items from the outlands will sell for HUGE amounts of money... until the novilty wears off. This is how it's always with WoW. Remember when the new argent dawn stuff came out in 1.11? Remember how certain prices on the AH skyrocketed for about a month and settled down again? Well that'll be the same thing with BC, just on a larger scale.

Of course this is all speculation. We've only gotten stuff in little bits here and there before. This is the first time we're getting 10 new levels, tons of new instances and areas to farm. I'm sure the outland will be laggier than Lagforge at 11am tuesday mornings.

I just want to know what specualtions you have as to the effects of TBC on WoW as it is now.

(Hopefully to be prepared).

I think the best thing to do...Friends list those you like...

Save up all your gold, stop laboring over 45 minute runs and repetitive content. Go do things you haven't done before. I wouldn't want to go farm the same raid for the xxx time just to replace an item shortly. Have fun and do things you normally wouldn't take time to do. Most of all, I say save your gold.

I've notice in the last couple of days a drop in a lot of stuff.

Righteous orb were selling for 50-60G each, were on the AH for 30G yesterday.
Large brilliant Shard were like 7-8G, were 5G each yesterday
Illusion dust were like 1-1.5G each, were like 0.50-0.75G each yesterday.

Once people gets to 68-70, these mats will be available a lot easier. Just duo or trio with 1-2 friends and 3 man everything in scholo/strat live/strat dead, etc and disenchant everything.

And some game mechanics changes are hurting some enchants also. With the nerf to +heal mechanics, I suspect a lot less people going for +heal enchant, instead maxing Int/spirit or MP5.

With the changes to minimum item level requirement for enchanting, lot less ''twinks'' getting enchanted therefore diminishing the demand for enchanting mats.

A LOT less people wasting gold on low level items for twinks, as people will prepare themselves for the expansion, farming some gold for new BOE items possibly available in AH as soon as BC launch.

Everything pre-BC will go down and everything in BC will be high for a while.

I'm curious as to how the + heal will affect my gear as well.

I'm heavy + heal and low on spirit/int and mp5.

I do keep my old gear tho so I can beef up on int/mp5 if needed and I think it will be once the nerf hits.
