Grinding/Leveling question

I'm a level 26 Human Pally, and I'm not sure where I'm going to get the most exp points for the buck? I've gone on a few group trips to the Westfall DeadMines, and also I've gone a couple times to the SW stockades. Which one has more xp/hr? Should I be doing something else instead of this group instance for leveling up?

I've also hit the Wetlands a few times up there as well. I've read in the forums here, that its probably better to go after mobs that are -1 level from what you are, so you kill them faster and thus, killing more per hour than something +1 above you. Another point, grouping up with someone gets you more monsters killed/hr but also cuts down the xp gained, but I wasn't sure if the payoff is worth it to group up or go solo?

You should get a mod that will report xp/hr. Then do all the things that you are asking about and get a feel for it yourself. It is hard for anyone else to say because it varies greatly depending on the competency of your group. In general, grinding solo tends to generate higher xp/hr. Since pallies tend to kill slower than other classes however, grouping may actually be better for you. I usually only group for one of two reasons. To have some interaction (group grinding/questing) or to get some loot that I can't get solo (group instances).

Well, instances are fun, but the xp per hour is MUCH lower than you can easily get on your own...

The lowest /played times hitting 60 have typically been obtained through questing, rather than grinding...

the problem with grinding is that it's soooo repetitive... you just can't grind your way to 60.

At 26 you should be working on Duskwood and wetland quests.

Instance wise, Stockades has a few quests that are nice experience but the items in there are rubbish. If you can get a good group I imagine the experience in there's not too bad, but I'd probably rather go questing solo to level up.

Dead mines is a bit low for you now but the quest items for killing van Cleef are pretty nice.

There's also Shadowfang keep, it's quite a run at that level and finding a group there will be hard work, unless you have friends. There are some pretty nice items there. It's more of a horde instance overall.

I never really liked it but there's also Blackfathom depths in ashenvale, it's not too tough and the items in there can be pretty nice.

Your main aim should be the paladin weapon quest, I think it starts in stormwind cathedral, once you get the hammer you're not going to stop using it for ages.
