Hi, I'm a level 20 warlock right now and I was wondering if it was possible to reach 60 before BC comes out. How fast would I have to level? This is my first toon but I have Joana's Horde guide.

Yes, you could do it, depending on how much time you are willing to put into the game, how willing you are to avoid RL, it couls be done fairly easily over the next 2 months. If you know what you're doing, and have no need for sleep, you could do it in about 4-5 days (eating and bathrooming can be done on the flightpaths).
But I ask, why? What is so important that you would willingly skip over half of the games content in order to rush into the Dark Portal, where the lag monster lives and will devour your soul?
Enjoy the game.
I levelled my first character in 17 days to 60, my new priestess will be there in about 12 days played.
So that is something like 300 hours...do the maths for yourself..and how much you can play to know if you can do it with 2 months left...took me over 6 months with the time I could spend.

Find a level guide, it'll be doable.
If you are on a PVE server even easier.
Average from 20-40 is about 3 hours a level being pismistic. So 20 days or 3 weeks at 3 hours anight will get you from 20-40.
40-50 about 4 hours of level, so 2 weeks.
50-60 about 5-6 hours a level, so 3-4 weeks.
So you'll get to 60 just about right at the release of xpack playing 3-4 hours a day. If you are on a PVE server, it'll take you 24 hours x 7 days = 168 hours from 1-60. On a PVP server, I'll factor in an extra day.

You don't skip any of the content if you follow Jame's or Joana's level guide. In fact, you will be doing quests you won't even know before.

its possible to make a character hit 60 on a new server in just over 4 days played time, but you really have to know your class, know your grind zones and not stop whilst grinding and questing.
As for getting to 60 before 16/01/07, ive got 4 characters to get another 20 levels on average with them to 60, most likely only 2 of them will make it and the other two will just be banks and gatherers.

Warlocks, particularly affliction-heavy spec, are one of the fastest-levelling characters in the game, IMHO. A well-played affliction lock should rival hunters and rogues for levelling speed and 60 in 10 days played is a very reasonable expectation so long as you don't spend much time screwing around or make extended stops in BGs.

I levelled my first lock to 60 in 13 days played but tragically he got deleted by the jealous ex. I levelled my last lock to 37 in 3 days 18 hours played. But didn't like her name. So deleted and re-rolled with another lock. He's at level 12 with 6 hours played. And yes I love this guys name! Ebeneezer =) Getting to 60 fast is easy. Enjoying game content while hardcore levelling. Not easy to do.
I did a priest in 10 days, using Joanna's guide after around level 30. Using it really sped me up a ton - but only for Horde. However, I would suggest not using it. Takes a lot out of the game.

you can grind and miss ALOT of the game content and alot of fun, at 60 life is just about raids , raids and more raids. you gain more personal experience levelling through quests- exploring ect.
but it's your choice :D

Aye - and raiding is extremely boring and time consuming. Not worth it at all.
Which is a very good reason for rolling a toon on a PvP server. World PvP is a lot of fun. Getting a group of 60s together and rampaging some outpost is quite a bit of fun.

If alliance then I strongly recommend Jame's Alliance Leveling Guide - google for it as this forum doesn't allow links to that site. Its free and superbly written to get you from lvl 30 to 60 by 90% questing and minimal grinding.
I found quests I'd never heard about by following this guide and if anything, saw more content than on any of my previous toons. Plus its quick if you follow it to the letter, although I would recommend maybe doing it 1-2 levels higher than he recommends if not very familiar with your character and what it is capable of.

It's possible, with your guide and some gold to keep your stuff to date and kill faster. :)

That guide has a few areas (desolace, for example) where there are a few things out of order...But, it is a good place to get very good information.
As for getting to 60, you can easily be there before the expansion goes live.

My warlock is on 6 days and 13 hours played at level 52 following Jame's guide from level 30 on, most of the time.
I did some elite quests Jame didn't do because I am a warlock. Factor in /afk here and there, running some stupid fly routes back and forth. It's amazing the guide just helps me find quests I never knew before.
I also never did any instances.

I think you can do it without a lot of difficulty. It is still quite a while until the expansion... like 7 or 8 weeks? You'll get to 40 pretty quickly then if you can get a level every day or two you'll be in good shape.
