How Can I join the Trade Channel?

Oh God, I'm such a Noob:sad:

I want to talk in the trade channel, I already tried joining it by pressing the right-click on the General Tab in the Chat options and enabling only the Trade Channel...

But, How can I talk in the trade channel just like these people:

And how can I make the Item's name in another colour just like the people in the picture?

Well, you have already joined the Trade channel since you can hear what everyone's saying. If you were not in the Trade channel you wouldn't hear it at all.

By default, the number of the Trade channel is 2, but you can see it upon entering a city, when your channels change. But normally it should be 2, just like the General channel is 1. So in order to talk in the Trade channel, you should do: "/2 Hello, now I am talking in the Trade channel" but with the message you like to send, of course.

To link to items, shift-click on the item while you are writing the message, and it will be copied in your message with the colors. Note that this is not available on every channel: the item will be copied everywhere, but will only be clickable on Trade channel, Party channel and Guild channel - and whispers. I might be forgetting one here, but bottom line is that you can't do it everywhere.

That said, the colors of the items aren't just there to be pretty. If you click on the items you see listed (the ones in colors with brackets) a small window will pop up with the item stats and level requirement.

If you already figured this out I apologize, it took me about 27 levels to realize that.... and then only because people were linking in guild chat and everyone was discussing the item. I accused them all of being nerds for knowing the stats of every item in game.

Is there anyway to join the trade channel when ur not in a city? I tryed /join trade - city and /join 2 and /join trade.

Or are u only allowed in the trade channel when ur in a city?

I believe there is a quite complicated macro available that can do that, but first of all I don't even know if it is still possible, second, I can't remember it anyway. But just so you know that there is (or was) a macro that does that.

Oh, and cyradis, I used the word "clickable" to mention that the items in color are indeed clickable, but you might be right, it was just casually mentioned. ;)
