mage vs. shadow preist

i no you guys get these questions alot but im stuck and not sure wut to choose

im new and im wondering, should i go with a mage or shadow preist? i plan on doing pvp and soloing most of the time, so which is better?

Both are very good, but in groups you will be forced to heal if you are a priest, as mage its just DPS and CC.

Just take the one you think look the sexiest.

Anyways, priest does not "have" to heal. Noobs cry when you dont though... but what right do they have to tell you to be a healer instead of an offensive shadow priest!?

If your very skilled go with mage. They do massive dmg, but die so easY! I personally had to go with warlock.. in my opinion..

I've been doing BG's for two days now and I've killed several Mages with my Shadow Priest. I've also been killed several times. I will say my Shadow Priest is a hell of a lot of fun.

I'll see Alliance characters trying to be sneaky and run by on their mount to get down to our base - Mind Blast, SW: Pain, Devouring Plague... as they keep running I watch their health bar, and they eventually just die. It's hilarious. So far I'm loving my Shadow Priest PvP

Wait till you meet a skilled mage, he will lt you do all that... ice block, and then DPS you to death :)

What i mean to say is that every class, if played well, is a lot of fun in BG's.

shadow priest is my personal fave. straightforward, high survivability, tons of dmg, self heal capability, offense, defense, blah blah blah.

Plus, they are just cool looking if they are on your side... scary if they are not!

Not the best mana tactic, but I have found it sometimes helps to not drop in ot shadow form right away. It makes you a target sometimes. Wait till you are in battle and drop it - 400 mana mid combat is hard to swallow, but if it keeps a hunter from picking you out of a group its worth it. Not always the way to go, but I have found it helps sometimes. You still do sick dmg without the form - your just not as sexy.

Usually helps most when you get a lock or a hunter who just keeps going after you.

Having played sp to rank13, ofc it's lots of fun but tbh, mage is generally more useful for bg than sp, cause of so many cc's and nuke and evocation.
