So let me get this right, you're too tight to pay for the game and play on the official servers, you can't be bothered to look for yourself and you can't be bothered to level your own character?
I mean, wtf, why are you even bothering to play it?!?!
Private Server = bad word on these forums. Seriously I really doubt you will get any help on this forums for any issues due to you playing on a private server. The Admins and the AddOn authors do not provide any support for private server players.
If you are playing on a private server why are you even bothering to play a MMPORG? You are missing the entire point of a playing a game like World of Warcraft. Game cards are are cheap and a legit client will only set you back twenty bucks. Then you can join the real WoW community and not some gated garden.

Yea, I want to know what a Private server is as well, is it like a hacked server or cheat server?

They're illegal servers set up by random people who can't be bothered to pay for the game. They run old builds, are unstable, and (from what I've heard) only allow around 30 players max because of instability.
The big thing: they're illegal.

Are these people running their wow chrs on them?
So they can take their chr, move to the private server rack up exp and
then log back into wow?
Probably not...Buzzard would be pissed on that one.
Of course Buzzard stays big mouth p'd.
I have been on their servers since DII and they are always mouthing off about something LOL

Etrin: No, you can't play on an illegal server and then log into the live servers. It's impossible; they're separated, much like the PTR is separate from live. And, to add to that, character information (what items you're using, what talents you have, etc) is all stored server-side.
And, I reiterate, it's illegal.

QFT.
I never got these people... If you don't want to play the game, why are you trying to play it? "Well I just want to do [insert stuff here] and can't be bothered doing [insert other stuff here]" isn't a valid excuse. It's either all or nothing, buddy, just like everyone else.
