Been having a lot of fun w/ my lvl 19 twink hunter in BG. I'm thinking of twinking up another toon for the lvl 29 group.
IMHO Rogues and Hunters rule the level 19 range. I would suspect other classes come into their own after lvl 20.

What seem to be the best classes for level 29 BG?

Thanks!!

I know the first thing most people are goign to ask you, is "for what".

that seems to be everyones response on these forums :)

If you like to run the flag, I think Druid is clearly the best option. If your horde I see the shamans doing good as flag runners to. (for now, finally we alliance get our shammy soon!!!)

Rogues absolutely pown at level 29. (and 19 of course).

Warriors are really good as level 29 twinks to.

Anyways im sure the godly people will post more detailed and better answers, I just thought I'd comment on what ive seen powning at lvl 29 bgs.

Thanks Lazt!
That's exactly what I wanted.

However I don't really like rogues, as they seem a bit too popular. I picked a hunter for the lvl 19 BG, they are pretty good all around (O, D, FC.) The only class that really gives me serious trouble is a uber twinked Pally. I can own the most twinked rogues IF I can get a wingclip to stick.

As for what position I want to play? Pretty much everything, I prefer not to run the flag as babysitting it gets old fast.

Thanks again.

Personally, I moved to AB as quick as possible, once I hit 20+...
I play a rogue, exclusively... but I've seen every class shine in 29th BGs in AB. The only classes at the bottom of the list would be Mages and Priests, simply because a well placed Ambush would take a massive chunk out of either of them. (But any class, if well-played and well-geared, can rock.)

The worst face-offs were versus max-twinked Warriors and Paladins. (With full librams and enchants, I saw a 6khp+ Gnome Warrior in AB... and no one could slow her down without having an entire team pile onto her.)

It's the gear dependant classes that really shine in twinking. That basically means any non cloth classes. You can't twink clothie damage, which is a big problem.

I created a 29 Druid, kinda twinked, a long time ago when I was active in an alliance PvP guild. It was great fun for a while since I'd almost always be on a winning team (premade guild teams FTW). I recently resurrected her because I was bored, and I dumped her again shortly afterwards. Druids are horribly weak for anything else other than flag running. PUG flag running can be a crappy experience where you spend most of the time hiding with the flag.

Don't dismiss the warlock.

At lvl 29, you have Succubus with Seduce and Fear.
Shadow damage, health enchants..., +30 spell damage...

They can become a nightmare real quick.

I've seen any number of classes up high on the damage/kill list. Hunters and Rogues are still high up on the list - Hunters don't quite own rogues as much since the former now have crippling poison (if they have any sense, at least). Paladins seem to be difficult for a lot of people to play well, but every now and then I see an extremely effective one.

However, I've found that the cloth-wearers aren't quite as much target practice for rogues as some necessary abilities in the 20-29 class that they didn't in 10-19. In fact, the single most awesome damage machine I've seen is a 'Lock (+30 spell damage to weapon, +20 shadow damage to gloves, and a variety of other adds put him at over +100 damage to make for the DoTs from hell).

Druids make great flag runners in Warsong Gulch, but leave a more confused status for Arathi Basin. They need to know when to heal and when to fight, and when to stealth for attack and defense in AB. They aren't gonna be at the top of the damage list, but need to use the versatility of the character. Nor have I seen Shamans up there, either, though they are arguably a better damage dealer than Druid, and a so-so healer at best. Priests tend to remain priests, you either like watching health bars or you don't.

I currently have 3 level 19 WSG twinks (Pala, Rog, Warr) but fancied something a bit more challenging in terms of combat so I've just recently created 3 characters to build-up as level 29 battleground twinks. I like the idea kit and enchants will have less impact and skill will come into it more with all the new abilities and talents I'll have to work with.

I'm now working on the following:

Hunter

Going for a mix of agility and stamina to give high life and a good crit chance. Using another well-known website, I estimated a crit chance of +20% was vitually impossible to attain without sacrificing an obscene amount of HPs so I decided to aim for a crit chance of 16.7% (1 in 6 shots) and boost my HPs to over 2k. I'm expecting to pwn hard with a decent bow for DPS. I'm a sucker for cliches so I'm a male Nelf with a bow and cat

Mage

Decided to make this guy for a challenge. I love mages as they operate well even with crap gear. However, at this level I figured skill and a whole mountain of HPs from kit was the way to go. I'm currently aiming for a set-up that will give me over 2k HPs and mana. A phat DPS boost from my kit is out-of-the-question so I'm expecting to fill a kind of support role in battles. Again with the cliches, I'm a male Gnome with silver hair and the full beard-thing for a degree of sensibility.

Rogue

I figured life for this guy would be much tougher than his Level 19 1-button hero counterpart. Again going for a highlife character, but I'm hoping 2 good daggers will seriously ramp-up the DPS output. Working towards +2k HPs and expecting to play this character much more like a Rogue was intended to be played than the 19 version.

One bonus to creating 29 twinks is that you necessarily have to level-up in something as crap as fishing to get the best helm, etc. I'm expecting my mage to need the boots though, which sucks but at least it's gonna be easier at 29 than 19!

As for the Arena Grand Master, I don't think there's any easy way to get those. I'm on a seriously high-pop EU realm with people online round the clock so I'm shafted there!

TBH hunters are probably the BEST at 29. They are the only class that can have a speed increase the entirity of the time.

That beign said....warriors, rogues, and pallys are pretty darn good too.

Druids can shapeshift out of slowing effects, which make them invaluable

BUT the MOST damage output I have ever seen on the scoreboard have come from warlocks. Sure, they cant take on more than 1 at a time, and a majority of the 1v1 scenarios they end up dead....but they can decimate an entire team through rotating dots and fears. Nothing is more impressive than meeting 6 players from the opposing faction that are at 1/2 health because one warlock suicide spammed them. Simply amazing IF you can play them well. If you can't play them well, you are about as useful as a lvl 10 rogue.

BUT, if you want to get THE most praise, roll a priest. healers in the bgs are such a rarity, but having one while your opposition doesn't is almost a guarunteed win.

I have to say warlock too, i just started in that lvl bracket at lvl 27, i i wear really crappy gear, im mostly in the top 3 of dmg dealing ( using the stay-behind-send succy-Dot the hell out of all of them strategy. Im loving it when 3 allies die of my Dot's while i myself am lying dead on the floor.

I feel locks also are very good for flag capping in AB, seduce/fear and dots and the DPS succy are just a hell of a lot of fun.

Cheers

Playing a priest in 20-29 is pretty difficult because of all the rogues + lack of support from teammates. If I were a warrior, I'd want to be around the healer but hey, that's me.

Shadow spec priest runs out of mana fast throwing damage spells at 29. I tried this spec: blackout, improved shadow word: pain, mind flay, improved psychic scream, wand spec, improved power word: fortitude, some spirit tap. Wanted the PW:F to buff self and teammates + SW:P DoT and mind flay, a spammable offensive spell.

There's a lot of other possible ways to go. I went for damage + some heal/buff. Improved PW:F is useful till everybody dies. Helped me a bit.

With 20 points to spend, I'm not sure what the best path is for a 29 PvP priest. Hard to get the damage up. Can go all discipline and increase armor from Inner Fire to about 640, boost PW:S armor to about 270. Plus items and armor enhancements, you can get priest armor up (for the duration of PW:S) well over 1,000 at level 29! But then you're mana constrained for healing and gimp for damage.

Rogue without a doubt. Rogue will own anything in 29's. I noted you say hunter and warlock and mage, but I think rogue is much better, if twinked

As to the flag carrying, I'd say shaman. Shaman owns flag carrying in 29's. Druid for the Alliance I guess, altho not as good. Druid is absolutely awesome for flag carrying in the 30-39 brackets, after he gets travel from and before the horses come in
