Engineering: Goblin or Gnome?

I have yet to take up engineering, as I heard that it's the best profession to PvP, and I'm wondering, which is the better path to take?

I love gnome as It lets you take control of minds and gives you tthe best trinkets in the game goblin expands what you can make for pvp
