O.K. all, I am going to make this really easy so that no one posts, "what profession should I choose". Perhaps this will help the mods of this forum.

Priest-Tailor, Enchanting,
Pally-Blacksmith, Miner
Rogue-Leatherworker, Skinning
Warlock-Tailor, Enchanting
Warrior-Blacksmith, Miner
Hunter-Leatherworker, Skinning
Shaman-Leatherworker, Skinning, Blacksmith, Miner
Mage-Tailor, Enchanting

And, everyone can do: Miner, Engineer, Herbalist, Alchemist

There are the suggestions that I have. Of course you can also take two gathering professions to sell the goods on the AH.

I'm going to post a contrary view.

If you can't figure that out, methinks you shouldn't be playing a druid. The best armor druids can wear is leather, so...leatherworking/skinning.

But, I don't think giving only two professions for each class is good enough.

A Class should have a wider range of prefessions which might benefit him in some way.

You should also state why is a specific profession good for the stated class, you know what I mean.

But hey, it's a good job you did there :P

Mining/engineer is great for hunters too.

Not to mention that alot of people will have multiple acounts so it doesnt realy matter who has which proffesion.

I have a question about professions. I've had mining/engineering on my Hunter since day 1, and a variety of professions on my alts, including a few enchanters.....but I'd like to enchant my own weapons on my Hunter. Of course, I can't do this because I can't have 2 of my toons on at once, so I was thinking of dropping engineering for a while to power level enchanting...then after I do the enchants to go back to engineering. So, my question is, will I have to start engineering all over again? Or will it automatically be the same skill level as before?

Also, I'd like to note, that I tend to solo instances for gold with my Hunter, and selling mats will get me that much closer to purchasing some necessary items.

Youll have to start over again stick to engineering its the most useful in the game

My Priest has this profession and I've found it very difficult to level up. Usually when you're in a group, you're the last to finish casting/drinking mana and so miss any mining opportunity. Even if someone else in the group doesn't beat you to it (which they usually do) they are rarely content to wait for you to run off and mine.

After combat I find myself still casting heals; then comes the mana call and the tanks watch their rage dissappear while you sit there drinking

stick to engineering its the most useful in the gameWhat makes you so certain of that?

This has been said a lot already, so it sounds as a cliché, but that must mean it holds truth. The "best profession" for your character all depends on your playing style and what you like to do. Now, there are definately professions that are best for making money, and there are also professions that are best for a certain character class. But in my opinion there is no real "best profession", just as there is no real "best class" in the game. It's all too vague, since everyone has different playing styles.

I find its all personal preference. Engineering is awsome for PvP. Enchanting is cool for some cash but takes a lot to train it up and lots of rep grinding for the rewards.

The other professions are getting some awsome recipe's in the expansion.

If your money hungry take up Mining/Herbalism, Skinning. Best way to make cash.

mining/herb/skin

these are the only profs that are not a money sink.

Enchant, Engineer, BS, LW all equalize out to a large net loss in the end 99% of the time.

Choose 2 gathering profs, you will net 100000times more money, you can buy better than you can make, and if you want a particular BOP item REEEEEAAALLLY bad, then drop on of them @ 60 and powerlevel that prof in a day with all the extra gold you have.

for the production profs, as you level up, the mats are worth more than the finished product, so why do that? provide the mats, buy the finished product at a profit as you move up.

Alchemy can make you a bit of money as you level up, but in the end its a break even situation unless you can make certain flasks, then it can make you some cash, but its a PITA to go to scholo everytime you wanna make some money.
