View Full Version : UI reset back to freshly installed WOW

I have had the game for quite some time and have instaled and deinstalled mods numerous times. However, I doubt those old mods have been removed entirely. For instance when I reinstalled some of the discord mods after not having it for a few patches, the default was back to the one I originally messed up on. My question is how do I entirely remove any modifications to WOW with out uninstalling the game itself and reinstalling it (seemed to have lost a cd during my most recent move). I am mainly concerned with any changes done by discord and possibly square minimap. I don't care if I have to set up keybindings or macros again just want a clean slate without purchasing the game again. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the quick reply!!! I was afraid to touch the wdb/wtf folders since I wasn't sure what they did. I'll check that out when I get back to my comp. The main reason I want this is when I did that DFM/DAB install, it changed my settings back to ones I didn't like (such as placement of casting bar, and when I selected breakable bottom bar it immediately placed the latency meter in the center of the screen). These settings would also show up when I started the game, as the UI loads up, then go back to default blizz standard, regardless if Discord mods were installed or not. While I love how powerful Discord is, that power does have its drawbacks, and this problem has plagued me for over a year. Anything else that could be done in case this doesn't work?

WDB contains all cached informations (like item links, item names, players, etc.)
WTF contains account, client, and addon settings.
Interface contains all addon files.
Perhaps it's enough to delete wtf and interface only. In this case you will keep all your cached data.
If deleting these folders don't fix your problem you'll have to reinstall wow.

Thanks Duugu, worked like a charm... except when i load up i still see the casting bar spark over to the left of the screen. Oh well but at least it doesn't stay there and the latency bar is fixed. Ive lived with it for a year I can deal with it for another one. If it bugs me too much ill borrow a friends discs.

Don't delete WDB or Cache. They contain cached info which is intended to reduce server querying (by storing constant info). They have nothing to do with addons.
