Private Realm Testing?

Can I set up a private WoW server to test some things out myself?? For example can I set up a private server and make a lvl60 character and equip it (without actually having to lvl it to 60 and "find" the items myself haha)? If so, I'd like to know how hehe :)

Sometimes yes, but this time no.

They want people to test it with what they already know- so no premades this time around. Feel free to copy any character over- but if you want to play around on there with a 60, earn one first.

Hi, thanks for the info but I didn't mean testing on the PTR's

What I meant was, is it possible for me to set up my own little private test realm (not the PTR's), where its just me?? Hehe

Nope, no way to run the game on your own private server that I know of.

Not true, you can make your own private wow server and use GM commands liek .setlevel 1-255 yes there is a 255 if ur a GM. Or go to nax and .kill everyboss and loot stuff..or make ur self invincible..or .add "item number" and it will give u that item..theres tables that list all the stuff online..And u can go like .go "cords here" wich will take u anywhere in the game...once again tables for that online.

Of course this is not allowed by WoW and can get ur main account banned if they find u using a private server....so u shouldnt do it. If u wanna really bad...google is your friend.

Yea they can, its against the TOS or something like that, ive been tempted, i mean id love to see my mage in full t3 with atiest but i dont wanna risk my account lol. To each his own though, i know ppl who play on private servers but thats mostly cuz they cant afford the 15 bucks or are just cheap :P I prefer the hundreds of players over only maby 100 per private server

Simple answer: it's not allowed in the ToS. The monthly fee you pay is actually a fee to play on Blizzard's servers. So, with a private server, you are circumventing that fee and are actually playing for free. That's why it's not allowed. If you would only use that private server for testing purposes, it would not be so bad, but since there is no way of checking this they disallow it altogether. Besides, they have to draw a line somewhere.

Also remember that these forums strive to be completely legit. In other words, asking how to make a private server is not allowed here, so I'd better close this one before someone says something stupid. You've had your answer now, anyway. :smiley:
