From the news that there's probably 'gonna be a WoW "MySpace" shoot-off from Shawn Fanning, I had a look around and if you haven't found it yet, the official website is at www.rupture.com
It's not really much at the moment, but it says that some guilds are participating in the Beta so it looks like it's gonna happen! :D

I did a google search on it, said it will be for wow and other games too. Something about them using a plugin so while you play your data is delivered to the rupture site. TOS comes to my mind when I read a plugin.

I searched in Google, the first think I found was http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/worldofwarcraft/news.html?sid=6162588

Ho-hum.
"The MySpace for Azeroth will pull data directly from WOW and publish stats and information on a personalized page. Gamers will also be able to instant message while playing, as well as track the progress of their guilds and organize playing time with their online buddies."
So you can like... no wait, I'm still lost.
We'll see. Fanning have had some good ideas in the past, but I sort of dont see how this is any different then rpgprofiler with various forums added into the mix.
Hrm.

There are other sites like this, although they're not in use by a critical mass of players. Rupture might be an attempt to adopt all the ideas and concepts from these sites and produce a streamlined and quality service. Doing what other people have done before, only better and more polished - also known as Blizzard's way of conducting business :)

well Blizzard will be getting a big pay-off from Shawn Fanning if this goes ahead because they will need a feed from the game to the rupture website! :P
Sounds good though

Yes this is nothing new to be honest, it's just data gathering like any other site that provides stats. I have a feeling this is a jump on the bandwagon and an attempt in hope that stacks of players flood to the site. I think it's a bit of a hoo-ha about nothing.

Well I dunno, we've never seen this in WoW before so it sounds good! :D
