Hi,

I am a Human Worrior at Level 10.
I found at one instance, I couldn't pick up a better sword from killing a bear. The current sword I have is 2.0 Damage. Do you know why I can't pick up the sword? My inventory still not packed.

I also heard that I can repair my sword without going back to the townhall, but how to train myself to capable for repairing my weapons by myself?

Thanks
W

What is the level requirement for the weapon? It could be that you are too low a level to wield it.

Warriors can wield all weapon types (Except Wands) according to this (http://www.worldofwar.net/characters/). (Scroll to the bottom). So only restriction I can see would be level. If you hover over the weapon it should tell you that clearly.

No, that sword is required level 5, I am at level 10 already.

Please explain better.

I'm not sure which you mean, so please choose either (a) or (b):

(a) I could not pick up the sword off of the monster's corpse. The only reason for this would be a full inventory.

(b) I could not equip the sword. There could be two reasons: 1. You aren't of an appropriate level; or 2. You haven't yet trained the appropriate weapon skill. Visit the Weapons Master in Stormwind to learn how to use Two-handed swords (One-handed swords are automatically available to a Warrior).

As for your second question: the only way you can repair armor and weapons is by visiting a vendor that repairs armor or weapons. Typically, these are the vendors in towns who sell armor and/or weapons.

With (a), I don't think it s the problem wth my inventory, because I have empty some of the space from my inventory before trying to pick up the sword.

(b), I am at level 10, and the sword required level 5. The sword is a 1h sword, not 2h.

Thanks

So, it's a), right?

If it is and if you have an empty spot in your inventory, I must say I'm baffled without actually seeing it happen. There must be a perfectly logical explanation for this, but at the moment I have no idea. Can you be 100% specific? What actually happens? Do you get any messages?

Maybe take a screenshot, host it on ImageShack and post a link to it here so we can see what it actually says?

I have looked around the lower-left-corner of the screen, there is no message saying the reason either. If it happened again next time, I will take a screenshot of it and post it here. I also found that there is no much chance for me to upgrade my 1h sword in the shop, the only way iI found is to get a 2h sword at Stormwind and also train myself to use it, but what level does a 2h sword require? If > level 10, I will have to wait for a long time and keep using my crapy 1h sword until I reached that level. :(

Thanks

A 2h sword doesn't require more levels than a level one - you only need to train the skill if you don't have it, and that means paying 10 silver.

But at level 10 you should be able to get a much better 1h sword than 2.0 DPS... Did you do all the quests? Have you checked other vendors than the one in Goldshire (I assume you're there since you're Human), for instance in Stormwind?

Sounds like a glitch - or maybe some kind of annoying lag to me.

I've had it where I never got an item because I just started lagging, and all my commands weren't working.

Also, could just be a random glitch in the game. They happen.

With those, you can normally log out / back in again and it should be fixed, right? I've seen something similar with looting not happening - character would crouch, but no loot window pops up. An out/in sequence and I could loot as normal and the corpse was still there.

ok, I should try to logout and back in next time when this happened again. But I wasted a chance to get a much better sword already. :(

You'll have many more chances, don't cry over spilled milk and all that. You'll be doing a quest soon that'll give you a nice weapon, and then later you'll be doing another one for an even nicer weapon, and then you'll be running instances and get even nicer weapons than that. Finally you'll be running Naxxramas and get the Claymore of Unholy Might (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=22813) and you'll be all set. =)
