After having been a vivid fan of the Wow mmorpg for about 1 and a half years, i decided to get my dad into the game.

After much persuation, he agreed and i just brought him an account a few days ago. :) He loves the game now. And believe me or not, for a n00b, he got to lvl 20 with a warlock in 4 days.

The dilema at the moment is this: I am a tauren Shaman. Me and my father are very excited about the Arena at lvl 70. My question now is this.

What other class goes very well with a shaman. We want to quest together, level together and BG/Arena together. What will be the best combo class with a shaman?

I want to be able to reach 70 fast, as at the moment, leveling is very important for me.

So, plz help.

And no, i am sticking with my beautiful shaman, you cant make me choose a class, just my father.

:) thx in advance!

All classes go well with a shaman (;

however i suggest a druid or a warrior.

Methinks a paladin and shaman will make a wicked combo.

Probably warrior/rogue. Windfury ftw

To be honest, a warlock is not that bad in combination with a druid. IMO you'll have a lot more fun with a Warlock or Mage combined with your Shaman.

With a shield a shaman can take a good deal of punishment and a mage can kite, sheep, AOE. A lock can fear, seduce, AOE . . .

A LOT more versatility compared to rogue or warrior

Thank you, everyone, for such good and quick replies. I really appreciate it.

@amygn : thx a lot. I myself was thinking of a warrior to go along, but NOT a druid. For some reason, my father hates a druid.

@construct : you might have a valid opinion, but since my dad cant play a pala until BC because we are horde, and we want to get started right away. So, pala is outta the question. And by the way, i dont have anything personal with pallies, but i dont like them.

@construct : Yes, i was also thinking about a warrior or a rogue. More about a warrior actually. While i dps the mob, my dad can tank, and we will, well....simply pwn. thx, but still thinking about it.

@Orkie: thx a lot Orkie, i wanted to hear something along that lines. You see, my dad absolutly loves warlock. He has agreed to play something elsejust for my sake, but if it actually turns out the a warlock can be a good duo with shaman, then it will be awesome.

Can u plz explain the benefits of a shaman and warlock duo-- like tell me who takes on what roles and other stuff.

And for all the awesome ppl who answer my question, you have no idea how much i want to thank you all.

:)

For some reason, my father hates a druid.

:)

One thing to take into account is WHY he hates the druid...Once you know that, you'll be better suited to choose a class.

Since his lock is 20, he is likely to stay with that for a bit...

Why make him change? He's obviously having fun with the warlock. Games are played for fun, so don't take that away from him.

The Voidwalker + Shaman combination can tank/melee handsomearny while the Warlock stays back and applies DoT, DPS and Fears as necessary, etc.

That could be a very interesting combination, actually, as the Shaman can use totems, healing, etc. Hmmmm.

well with a warlock you would be like his second "intelligent" pet that does dps and heals him while he nonstop attacks and mana-tap.. you two would grind endlessly :o

Thank you sooo much everybody! I really love this awesome community at worldofwar.net.

@Inp: Yes, ino, u r indeed right. My dad should stick with a lock if he likes it. The problem is that he has not experianced the other classes other than a druid and mage. So he wouldnt mind a class change.

But anyway, thx to all of ur help, me and my dad have decided to stick with a warlock itself. Thx a lot.

P.S As for y he doesnt like a druid, he just didnt like the playstyle and for some unknow reason that exists in the minds of fathers, he doesnt want to be a healer. He did a little bit of research before picking a warlock, and he found that healers have to primarily heal in End-game. He doesnt wanna do that. Its probably his ego (sorry dad!) as he doesnt wanna be a support class.

The iorny in that is that, warlock are in a way, a support class too.

:) but go figure out fathers!

Thx again for all the help!

Must be your father...I'm a dad, and have two healing classes...

Warlock +any class= the best 2 class combo for anything

Orkie

To turn around FodderCannoned's statement: Shaman is evil in two-man groups: damage + Buffs + healing

i vote: stay with the warlock, if it would matter

Not stopping your macho dad from trying a rogue or warrior.

Anyway: Anyone telling us now what class combo will RULE 2V2 arena at level 70 MUST be either a visionary or a genius

@mesonm: yeah well, my father is one of those old generation fathers who believe that games are a waste of precious time.
Thank god he doesnt think the same about Wow.

And yeah, its final- my dads taking a warlock.

Or actually, maybe he does think that Wow is a waste of time. But it probably doesnt matter cause he is about to retire.

What do u mean Old-generation games? I grew up with those games and well, in my 20+ years of playing games, i still think that the old games were awesome. The new generation games are the same with a little more eye candy and slickness.

Really?

You actually compare Missile command with this?

lol... tetris > WoW ...

anyway warlock and shaman will be AWESOME together when i think about it.. especially when you reach your higher up talents. (totem of wraath, or mana tide or .. ororororor!)

Maybe you should change your shaman xD

Paladin + Warlock that should pown all, for grinding Paladin is very tcheated, he almost never dies xD and in pvp it's the same thing, I hate paladins cause with my main hunter I just can't take them out.

Well, as i said before, palies are out of the question: we will have to wait till BC. And i cant even think of becoming alliance right now (kudos to Alliance, but no sorry).

Well, okay maybe tetris/missile/ is not 'better' than WoW. But its just that those games will always have a place in my heart.

And by the way, me and my pop started on Fenris, and u all are so right: we rock!

We both are level 13 right now. Thx again.

As for Pattedeloup (are u french? lol), you have a very small chance of making me change a class myself. The reason is that i have experianced every class (yea, even a pala, oh the horror of being alliance), and shaman is everything i want in a class.

But good luck trying to make me change.
