Hi
So, the basic mount needs 100g to learn how to ride and buy it, But what about the Epic mount, do we have to learn the Journey man riding skill to ride it, and how much is the total cost of riding it?
Thanks in Advance

I don't have exact figures, since the price change...It was 900g.

It's 100g for the mount and 900g for the riding skill from what I remember.
You can get a 10% discount for rank 3 (not sure how it works in the new system) and a 10% discount for being honoured with the faction.

It isn't that hard...
And, we need 5000 gold at level 70...People say that they've done it in the beta...no problem...Your earning power climbs quite a bit as you level...
I remember thinking that 10g was alot, and it took a week or two to get that...Today, I earn that in a few minutes.

You don't, unless you want the mount...

No, you're not. I was level 60 for a couple of weeks before I earned enough to get my epic mount. Besides, an epic mount isn't a necessity, it's a luxury. However, I find that there's a lack of things to spend your money on at level 60 (since anything you can buy on the auction house can generally be replaced by instances/raiding), so I found an epic mount to be a good use of my money.

Epic mounts were useful to me before BG when I want to pvp I need the speed to catch up to people and escape. Now it's truely a luxury that's pretty much useless especially in arenas.

Learn to grind.
find packed mob, kill them all, loot.
the more you kill, more drop you get , more chance you get find valuable drop.
in short, increase the your kill rate. Do more dmg or kill lower mob, the key is kill rate.
(and find a mob who worth to grind them...)
or play the AH.
or do both :azn:
#edit : and sell those grey item. lv 55 grey weapon can go for 2g to the vendor.

Epic mounts will be useful while leveling to 70 since zones in Outland are more that twice the size of zones in the old world. Makes getting to and from quest NPCs much quicker.
How many of us thought hitting that first 100g before lvl 40 would be tough... and yet somewhere around lvl 36 or so, money soon became easier and easier to come by.
The 1000g epic mounts aren't much different... even without grinding or watching the AH, it wouldn't be unheard of to make that much (or close to it) just while grinding rep with the Argent Dawn or Timbermaw factions.
I suspect the same for the 5000g epic flying mounts.

Just don't tell him how mind numbingly boring it is to grind rep... :)

Speak for yourself! I didnt have any money and couldn't afford my mount until lvl 44!
I kept thinking that I was getting closer, but had to spend money on new spells and armor repairs! Sure I could have not bought the new spells, but that would just make the grinding even harder.

I had 4k gold by the time i was level 40. I play no more than 3 hours per day normally 2 hours.
If you really need/want to save money learn to use the auction house or learn how to use your professions to make money.
Huge money making threads on this forum. By kcma, I gave my advice in them several times. I continue to make around 50 gold a day and play very little. I expect to make much much more after the enchanter change, since my main is a 300 enchanter.
I never got my epic mount for a few months after getting 60.... :P

Given the size of zones in the expansion, epic mounts are a very nice thing to have.
As a packrat I'm generally mat rich and cash poor. Combined with my tendency to just give mats to guildies who need them, I rarely have much money. I've managed to buy epic mounts for 2 characters tho.
Basic knowledge of how to work the AH can make incredible piles of cash in a very short amount of time, as I've recently learned by watching my boss play. For him its basically a minigame that he can play while talking on the phone, which he does 2 hours out of every 3 at the office.
