actualy they are changing the functionality of these in today's patch heh
you will be using them to sumon your group to that location
there will be a new button on your bottombar that accesses the new lfg/lfm interface which replaces the old meeting stone functionality

Well, it's good to know that the funtionality has changed (even though I am still unsure of what they used to do and what they do now).
So, how exactly do I use a meeting stone? Does my group have to be in the same zone? Do they have to be in a different zone? Do I summon them one at a time? Do they see a portal appear and have to enter it? Do I have to wait until the channeling is through?
Thanks!

- Two members of the group need to be AT the meeting stone.
- One selects a third group member
- This third member cannot be in an instance
- This member must also fall within the level-range of the instance. Example: 43 - 52(??) for ZF
- Then the summoning group member rightclicks the meeting stone.
- He will then start to channel something and a portal-like animation appears near him (NOT near the third member)
- The second member then needs to rightclick the newly formed portal.
- The two summoning member need to stand still while they both channel the summon.
- The third member then gets a message 'Thusandso wishes to summon you. Accept?'
- The third member then clicks accept.
- After a loading period he will appear near the meeting stone
So yes, summoning occurs one by one.

They used to act slightly like the LFG interface, you'd be put in a sort of queue and added to a party that was also looking for that instance. The problem with the function was you had to travel to the dungeon just to be added to the queue.
Now the stone is used as a summoning portal.
To use it you simply target the party member you want to summon and right click the stone with a portal appearing soon after. When the portal has appeared you need one other party member to right-click the portal, this will finish the summoning. It works exactly like a Warlock summon (except with less people needed), you can summon people that are anywhere within the world or instances.
When the summon has been made, the person summoned will be asked if he would like to be summoned with options Yes or No.

Are you sure about this? (Have you tried to summon someone that isn't inside the recommended level? someone higher, AND someone lower?)...I doubt you have to be WITHIN the range (or you can never summon a 60, for the lower instances).....More likely, you have to be above the minimum, if this is even a requirement at all.
For example, what is the range of SM? I can enter as a 20, IIRC. Can I be summoned as a 20?

Nope i've tried this, both the user and the person being summoned have to be with the recommended range

No, you can't be summoned as 20. And above 48 (afaik know) you can't be summoned either.

Just to clarify, b/c I had issues with this at first too . . . if you are the person initializing the summon you must select the group member before trying to summon by clicking on their icon in your party members list of icons on the left.
