I'm a lvl 38 human mage who is doing skinning/leathermaking.
I nearly have leathermaking fully-leveled (223/225). I'm finding that, at least in the AH, turning leather into advanced leather goods is not all that profitable. It seems like I may even do better just to sell stacks of leather on the AH.
Am I right, or am I missing something.
Your guidance is truly appreciated.

Fully leveled is 300, not 225.
You are not missing anything...Gathering profs generally are money makers, while production professions are not (much).

OK, so my newbie stripes are showing. How do I get my level up from 225 to 300? I thought that artisan leatherworker in Darnassus would teach me all I could know.
Thanks again.

Here is a good guide to get you to 300:
Link deleted because of gold selling and powerleveling adverts

You are going to want to start looking at which of the specialties you are going to want to go with. I think they are: Tribal, Dragonscale and Elemental. You can only pick one, and you can't go back. Each has their own stregnths, especially for different character types. Many of the high level items made from those are worth big bucks, but the ingredients are hard hard to get - drop rate on "worn dragonscales" SUCKS.

Roshambo, please don't link to sites that include gold selling and/or powerleveling ads, as we don't condone this on our forums. Thanks for understanding.
Nice guide, though. I copy/pasted it and put it in our Professions Powerleveling Sticky (http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.php?t=369587), with due credits of course.
