Intro,

60 Horde Shaman / 38 Horde Warrior / 33 Horde Lock / 32 Horde Rogue /
31 Horde Priest / 13 Alliance Pally :)

Here are some thoughts/questions I want to throw out if anyone wants to answer go ahead...

Why does horde win WSG and AB so much more the alliance, if equally geared these maps are completely fair, and I don't see why alliance lose so often, Horde healers barely heal, unless its a premade...

Why do alliance deny the fact that AV is unfair? or always respond with (QQ you already win 2/3 BGs)

What are alliance's thoughts on Shamans, I used to hear that they were overpowered ( not imo, certinly after 2.0 patch)

Why don't mages/priests buff players prior to battles? personally whenever on any character that can buf i make sure everyone has any possible buff I can give out prior to the match.

Why do people enjoy turtling in wsg? if the horde goes up 1-0 it seems like alliance enjoys keeping 7-8 on defense and 2-3 Rogues will come out for the flag, other then that they all stand in the Flag room... I almost stopped playing wsg due to this, wsg should be a quick battle not a 45min - hour battle...

Why do teams leave 1 person on defense in AB at either LM/GM?

Just some thoughts, answer if want to, im stuck at work for the next... 14 and half hours so... ya...

I'll take a shot at answering ;)

WSG/AB
Most horde are familiar with what strategy to go for and do so without being told in WSG. You run up the ramp, get the flag and intercept your own flag on the way back. The main point being that you don't really gain that much by getting your flag back unless you have the alliance flag allready.
I've heard from people that play alliance and horde that there's much less teamplay in general in a Pug AB or WSG on alliance side, but thats just generalizing from a few persons view of things. My PvP-career as alliance is much to brief to give any comment.

You leave a person at each place to call out if you get incoming in AB. Not guarding the bases you take is giving them away pretty much. Rogues or druids can stealth up and take them while you have 15 people on stables..

The main reason people don't buff is that it leaves you out of mana when the BG starts. Arcane intellect on one person costs 1400 mana(iirc) and the group buff 3400 and a reagent. I buff myself and friends on my mage and usually everyone if I get time to drink on my druid (the druidbuff is better and much cheaper to cast). The priestbuff has the same manacost as the magebuff, but really helps a lot. Wish I saw that more often tbh.
Premaids allways buff ofc.

I'll join in on the AV-whining later ;)

I pretty much only play AB at the moment and my (Alliance) experience is as follows:

Before 3pm, 50/50 wins. Between 3pm and 11pm, don't even bother. After 11pm, 50/50 wins.

And the afternoon that I finally managed to get a premade together: Carnage! :D

I get owned by premades all the time after the patch. TBH i dont care: those battles are the most fun :)

I get challenged, and that is why i play games. Got 3/6 PVP blues now and still liking it.
WSG premades are useless, i just went and won a premade game against me( i am horde) it was 2-0 for alliance :)

Get to know the people you are playing with,it helps a lot.

The intelligent answer would be: "everybody is doing BG's to get geared for TBC, so dont worrie you will get good gear even if you dont raid"

My 2 cents, i might give you 1 gold......but not yet...................not yet :)

Well on my Battlegroup ally and horde win about equal. However in AB allies mostly just zerg and leave NO ONE to guard the flag. (Usually they already leave before it's even captured :S ) Often they zerg GM, we cap STB, they zerg Farm, we cap GM, they zerg LM, we cap Farm back. Etc... :P

Over the weekend in AB as alliance, 14 or so total runs, I faced 12 pre-mades, the 2 that weren't, we the alliance won. My guild pre-made, which I didn't participate in because I am teaching my wife the bad side of pvp (pugs) before we jump into more organized play, well they won probably 70-80% of theirs.. 5 capping 2 that I heard of Sun.

Now I think you know what im getting at, Premade > PuG ..but even my wife who has been pvp'ing since only last Thursday, said. "why did that guy just say, Give them the nodes they are pre-made."? I said "he's a pussy"cat and let him say whatever, it's more fun to try" :) and it was more fun. She always said I'll never pvp and she is loving it..in pugs which is scary.

Since the patch there have been so many premades... solution is to make your own. Get your friends and guildmates into it. We rocked a group from arthas in AB last night (trounced you alliance scum real good :) ) who had far better gear (guilds only getting rolling in zg/aq right now and mc only up to mag). Try getting in vent and really running strats and rotating your def. I like it as much as raiding.

Team Play, less people also = more bg experience

Why do alliance deny the fact that AV is unfair? or always respond with (QQ you already win 2/3 BGs)

because they feel like it is some sort of balancing in the over all scheme of things and prolly why blizz leaves it the way it is. in addition, horde refuses to recognize that they need to play defense to win. Horde CANNOT win a race, and only do if the other side is stupid and wipes killing drek or something.

What are alliance's thoughts on Shamans, I used to hear that they were overpowered ( not imo, certinly after 2.0 patch)

ridiculous. someone always has to complain about something tho. if anything, pallies are ridiculous with their bubbles.

Why don't mages/priests buff players prior to battles? personally whenever on any character that can buf i make sure everyone has any possible buff I can give out prior to the match.

cause in many ways its futile because people die so much anyway and it eats tons of my mana, which i either have to pay to regenerate by drinking or go without for a while (not advisable). I will however buff and heal up the FC while they are running with the flag.

This is the most ridiculous thing ever. Incredibly annoying and in the end, it never works. My guess is that they think # of kills is better than the honor gained from a loss or they do it out of pure petulence.

Why do teams leave 1 person on defense in AB at either LM/GM?

they leave 1 at a base and have a roaming killing force, it works really well that way if done right. Also, people have issues playing defense, cause most people just wanna go out a kill stuff like zerging idiots.

I play alliance.

When I find myself in a PuB WSG against a Horde Premade group, after the first horde score, I tell my team to give up and let them (horde) win.

No point. Alliance are retard when it comes to pugs and teamplay.

In AB, I've one a few AB pugs against horde premades, its possible. But WSG, forget it. And if AB / AV pops while I'm in WSG, i'm out... no since in wasting my time.

After the patch, I join WSG solely to farm HK. WSG tokens are not used for anything that I need and I will join other BGs as soon as the queue is up.

Again...with the giving up I hope you people who feel that way don't play any organized sports, or are enlisted, OR have any kids for that matter. You may get a little bit of honor in-game but where is it in you to just give up.

It's not about giving up, it's about time vs. reward return.

Why do people play BG now days?

To get honor.

It's not about winning or losing. It's about acumulating the most honor in the shortest amounts of time. Dragging a game on such as AV does no good for anyone.

You can drag an AV game to last 1-2 hours, or you can go in 3-4 AVs in 1-2 hours and get triple the honor.

Amen to that.

If you've got 16 hours a day to waste playing WoW, by all means do whatever you want.

But if you're got 1 hour or less a day to play, it's all about efficency!

I'm new to PVP, starting to play only after the 2.0 patch. As an under 50 character, I can only access AB and WG, but I've noticed that the horde tends to win these things 4 out of 5 times.

Admittedly, I'm inexperienced, but the few times I've been on a winning battle in AB it was because someone took charge at the gate, directed groups where to go, and throughout the battle issued instructions on where to stage defenses.

Every single winning battle that I've been in had a balanced defense of the bases we captured at the beginning.

The losing battles had several flavors, but the overall feel to me is that no one in the Alliance battles wants to act as a leader, or players are so wrapped up in being individuals that they refuse to cooperate and participate in being part of a defensive team to hold a base.

I've heard a lot of whining about healing classes that don't heal. I always heal if I have a chance. It usually leads to my immediate death as the Horde seems to realize that beating down a Pally or a Warrior makes no sense if you don't take out the healer first.

It is downright annoying for me to heal someone and then be ignored as every Horde member in sight refocuses on me. To those few who have actively sought me out later in a battle and tossed me a "thanks" or "great job" or "nice healing" - you're the reason I keep going back to the BG's, even when I know the Horde is going to stomp us into the ground.

My bro dusted off his Pally Sunday (he normally PvPs with his mage). All he does it play heal-bot the entire time.

He's like "I can't DPS with a pally, why should I even try? But I can heal really good"

Makes sense to me. :)

I am really starting to enjoy the premade v. premade AB. I've been in 2 of them that were 1990 to 2K. They were a ton of fun.
