Warrior Engineer/Miner Question / BC

I am a Warrior (lvl 12) Engineer (lvl 75) /Miner (lvl 70), and I have few questions regarding the Engineering profession.

Can I make any money on Engineering items or it's just a waist of my mining resource?

What's the good money making items for Engineer?

Since I am relatively lower level Engineer, should I consider switching to another profession?

Will the new JeweleryCrafting of BC help or hurt Engineer?

Well, I levelled engineering at launch. Even back then there was little money to be made in engineering. Scopes were the main thing that sold well, and the Green Lenses (for enchanting mats). And it's a different world now no doubt (at least on mature server), so I doubt much of anything is going to make you loads of money. If you are looking to make money from a profession, engineering is not the way to go.

Should you consider switching? Depends. If you plan on doing a lot of world/battleground pvp, engineering has some cool toys for you. Note however that pretty much all engineering items will be unusable in Arena pvp. If you are looking to be able to craft items beneficial to you, and you won't be raiding, then blacksmithing would probably be a better choice for a warrior.

Jewelcrafting isn't really going to hurt or help engineering, other than to use up mining resources. Mining will now be the primary supporter of 3 professions, so nodes, ore, and gems will be in demand even more.

I think that WOW people went overboard by making mining such an important profession, thus minimizing all other professions.

Engineering is a money sink.

Its fun, but you won't make much (if any) money with it. You'll have to farm a lot of mats too to use the fun stuff (grenades and such).

And it seems Blizzard has the least amount of love for engineers as well. All professions have gotten semi-constant attention over the last year, little upgrades here and there, expect engineering. Nothing at all.

The expansion will bring some new stuff though. Goblin Rocket Launcher FTW!
