Right now I've got 2 sticks of PDP DDR400 512MB PC 3200LL RAM.
As of right now, I've got two empty slots open and recently purchased a Kingston HyperX 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) stick to throw in there.

(the rest of my specs are up to par - AMD 3800+ X2, GeForce 7800GT PCI-e on an SLI mobo, 250GB HD)

Given this is 2GB total, I'd guess this is a great amount to work with, right?

ALSO - does RAM position matter? Since my new 1GB card is the one that stands above them all, should I move it to the first position on the mobo? AND, will the other 512MB cards somewhat pull my 1GB card down (in speed)?

Just curious.
I'm not a RAM expert, but I was curious what's the best possible way to get the most out of my RAM.

I appreciate any advice.

Sorry, but this is not Off-Topic. Moved it to the Technical Forum for you.

2GB of ram should be fine to run WOW. It would have been better to get 2x512mb sticks of Ram so you can run in dual channel mode to maximise performance.

Some motherboards do require the dimms to be installed into particular slots but theres no way I can say which ones without knowing the model motherboard. Leave the dimms you have in the slots they are already in and put the extra dimm in one of the others. If you have a manual for your motherboard it should show you what slot to put the extra dimm into for the best performance.

i have 1.5 GB and it is more than enugh. i'd reccomend at least 1 GB, but your setup should be fine fine fine.

The minimum is 512MB for WoW. Many people run with 1GB. You should fly with 2GB...

I run with 1GB. Sometimes it seems like I could use more, but I think that's more of a video card issue than a RAM issue.

I would recommend finding out the info on the Motherboard. If its duel channeled then you will need to pair the memory meaning you could only have 1,2,4 sticks of memory. Meaning that your pair of 2x512 and 1x1gig will not work correctly. IMO Always buy memory in pairs. 1. It performs better. 2. You don't have to worry about your motherboard not likeing it in the 3 stick configuration.
