EPL/WPL...Not sure how well they sell on your server, but generally newer servers tend to have Dreamfoil, Plague Bloom, etc for up to 50s EACH in AH, which is huge. I reccommend getting mods that show where common herbs spawn on your minimap (don't know if they are compatible with 2.0.X yet). A good area for lowbie herbs would definately have to be wetlands, hands down.

I farm mostly in winterspring and wpl/epl Going for dreamfoil and plaguebloom, they sell pretty good on my server, aggramar.
Gromsblood sell good aswell, i think they are kinda rare for me as i have only seen a few bushes in felwood.
Oh and if you get lucky you will see a black lotus once in a while :)

There's an alpha version at http://www.gathereraddon.com/dl/Gatherer/ that works for me.

Depending on how heavily farmed it is on your server Felwood is, in my experience the best place to herb for cash, followed by Un' goro crater. You will not find the plaguebloom in Un'goro, but you will find plenty of high value herbs. EPL/WPL are not nearly as good as Felwood/Un'goro because the mobs are higher level and you end up spending a ton of time fighting/runing. In Felwood/Un'goro you can get VERY close to the mobs without aggroing them. Becuase I use mostly plaguebloom and gromsblood to make the stocks of pots I carry for everyday use I am more often than not in Felwood when I go herbing. My GF, on the other hand, makes most of her cash from Un'goro because Felwood is usually pretty well picked over on my server.

Winterspring (found a black lotus there!), WPL/EPL and Felwood. BTW, I found a Black Lotus once. I put it up for 15g. I put a few other things on the AH at the same time. By the time I walk out of the AH, Ding! Sold it!
I went back to Winterspring for an hour, looking for more!

The gartherer addon does not initially have anything to show you. But it tracks the things you find and remembers where it was so the next time you are in that area it will show up on your minimap.

I'm not sure why everyone is telling you to farm epl/wpl winterspring or felwood. Those places are very crowded and the mobs there can be difficult to deal with because of their level.
The place you want to go is Ashazara. Just stay out of the valley of the naga's and make banana shaped paths around the western, northern and northeastern areas. The area you will be in is shaped like a crescent moon and or banana shaped. Make sure you have enough timbermaw rep not to be attacked. I always avoid the area with the satyr's as I'm on a pvp server and someone is always farming them, as long as you don't act like you are going to try and take their farming spot they leave you alone. There are some elites way over on the northeastern section you really have to be careful around but otherwise the mobs there aren't any trouble. After about 10 hours of this with gatherer enabled and my epic mount I could get about 40g an hour worth of herbs.

Aszhara is my favorite spot too... lots of dreamfoil which sells really well... also sungrass, mountain silversage and lots of golden sansam. And if you can get tired of herbing you can ride down to the beach and fish for stonescale eels or grind the naga for golden pearls. If you are looking for Black Lotus I know of 3 spawns in EPL, 4 in Winterspring and 2 in Burning Steppes. It doesn't sell that well on my server for some reason though. I have 17 in my bank right now that I will make flasks of supreme power with too help speed leveling when TBC releases.
i thought it would be logical to grind herbs where herb grows :) and don't they grow pretty much everywhere?

I haven't seen them on the tops of mountains...I'd stay away from those areas....

When I farmed for my epic mount, beside played AH, I farmed Ice Cap in Winterspring.
There is a nice rogue you can follow, just follow the rocks around - there is also 3 places where there spawn Black Lotus on that journey.

When you pick a herb or mine an ore, it will place a node on your minimap.

Not the ones you want. In short, no. You want to find the most dense area of the best selling herbs. Not a big patch of purple lotus.

The "best" imho is the Felwood/Winterspring/Azshara....you make a circuit of Felwood, quick flight to Azshara & do a circuit, quick flight to Winterspring, do a circuit...and dump them in the bank or mail to alts. 50gold per hour if you are focused.
By now, Felwood has respawned...and you can do it again!
You can also make a quick pass thru the Winterfall village to snag some Firewater which sells ok.

Tagging my question to the end of this thread. :-)
Okay, I'm looking for some Wildvine, which buddles with Mageroyal and Briarthorn - my initial search suggested Hinterlands for this. However, after several hours there I found absolutely none!
Any other suggestions of possible places to find?

Mageroyal and Briathorn - lvl 10-20 areas - esp Silverpine Forest - Horde area.

...not sure where you heard that Wildvine bundles with Mageroyal and Briarthorn. Swiftthistle is the only herb I know of that bundles with Mageroyal and Briarthorn.
Wildvine bundles with Purple Lotus, which can be found near ruins (like the troll ruins in Stranglethorn Vale or the naga ruins near Feathermoon Stronghold). It can also be found as a drop off of trolls, both in the Hinterlands or in Stranglethorn Vale, and is probably an easier way to get it than actually trying to use herbalism.

This is what I thought too, but the game guide has a table of herbs and their location, with a footnote saying Wildvine bundles with Mageroyal and Briarthorn - clearly it lies!
Thanks for correction and the tip. Much obliged.

Update... if anyone was interested in wildvine. I've yet to find it with purple lotus, however, I have scads of if from the trolls in the HInterlands. Thanks again.
