I'm a level 10 elf Priest and I just got my first talent.

When it comes to professions, what should I do? The first guy I saw was a skinner, but since I can't wear leather items, it would be kind of useless. So what are 2 good professions for me to take?

Thanks

Well, first of all, it wouldn't be useless, since you can sell the skins you get on the AH and make some money that way.

Tailoring is a good way to go. You can combine it with, for instance, Enchanting or any gathering profession (Mining, Skinning, Herbalism), so you can sell gathered goods on the Auction House. But this is just a suggestion, of course, there are more viable professions. The only ones you shouldn't really be looking at for your class are Leatherworking and Blacksmithing.

Depends on what you're looking for.

Herbs/Skinning = Gold
Herb/Alch = Pots for you (useful skill!)
Herb/Tailoring = Gold and bags/Items you can wear
Skinning/Tailoring = Same as above...some Tailoring requires skins!

some Tailoring requires skins!Only the boots, so if you take Skinning together with Tailoring, it's actually best for earning gold selling skins. But yes, good suggestions.

I a lvl 40 UD priest and I have skinning and herbalism as my professions. The benefit me inasmuch as I sell stacks of leather and herbs on the AH and make $$$.

If you'd like to get a mount as early as possible, start skinning and gathering, sell what u find on the AH and bank that cash. Been working well for me so far.....

To be really picky, some of the bags require skins as well...

Also, if you follow any of the good suggestions here and then find that you get very little use from it at a later date, you can always unlearn it and try something else. (You will lose all the money you put into the skills and any recipes you bought and learned, so be really sure.) It will take you less time to level a profession as a high-level toon, and money is a bit easier to come by as well. Just thought I'd mention that it's not set in stone after you choose a profession. :-)

i got 300 skinning and 300 tailoring, and i make a huge ammount of money out of them and i have got all the best cloth gear for my level.
if you level tailoring fast it costs loads but if you do it as you go along buy the time you hit 60 you will be bale to make all your best gear and when you hit 70 on tbc you will be bale to make amazing stuff for sale in ah
also skinning makes lods of money on my server heavy 1g 10 per think 1g 70 per and rugged 2g 50 per
