This will be a bit of a trek if you haven't been to any of these locations before, but it's all fairly easily done by following signs and keeping an eye on your map.

From Stormwind, you need to go to Ironforge. (I would assume you've been there before, but if not, take the deeprun tram from Stormwind's dwarven district.)

From Ironforge, travel through Dun Morogh to Loch Modan, and from Loch Modan to the Wetlands.

Make your way to Menethil Harbour in the Wetlands. Take the boat to Auberdine. You'll be in Kalimdor now.

Travel from Auberdine to Ashenvale, and from Ashenvale into the Barrens.

For the quest to get the Succubus - is it better to go around the top through Ashenvale or around the bottom through Theramore? (Haven't gotten my Succubus yet either, and was planning on doing that tonight)

I've never tried going the Theramore route, but I think you'd have to go through Dustwallow Marsh to get into the Barrens that way, which could be painful for a level 20 (unless you jump in the water and swim to Ratchet ). I'd suggest the Ashenvale route m'self, if only because I know it doesn't involve anything that a 20 warlock can't handle.

You can also go to south Westfall (near the deadmines and the lighthouse) and just swim south to Booty Bay along the coast of Stranglethorn Vale. If you stay far enough away from the coast nothing will agro on you. Grab the flight path at Booty Bay. TAke the boat to Ratchet (in the Barrens). Grab the flight path in Ratchet. Go do what you need to do.

There's a shorter, but more dangerous way. Go from Westfall to Darkshire, then to Stranglethorn and catch the boat out of Booty Bay to Ratchet, which is in the Barrens. I did this route when I leveled my Warlock alt to 20, but got killed twice travelling through Stranglethorn, even sticking to the roads.

I'm working from the assumption that there will be some Warlocks reading this and as you know the quest ...

Where in The Barrens do you find what you need?

I'm on a RP/PvP server and everytime the Zone name goes red I kack myself. Especially when the bloody Orc voice goes Zug zug and I'm without a bubble.

Edit:
Thanks Ardani! I think I'll go do that tonight. <gulp>

Your quest destination is very close to the Horde outpost Camp Taurajo, which is the bridge between the northern Barrens and the southern Barrens on the route in from Mulgore. Basically, following the Gold Road, you'll have Agama'gor (or however it's spelt) to your right and Camp Taurajo just ahead of it, and your quest NPC will be in/near Bramblescar to the left.

In the middle of the Barrens, you should come to a fork in the road with Camp Taurajo to the west of you. There looks to be a small wooden tee-pee looking camp directly east of you. Go past that & through the dinosaurs. There are 2 white tents in the distance.

He's there. There's also a Warlock only quest there you can get with a decent reward but you have to do an instance.

Are you Alliance or Horde? Is it Horde attacking you? If that's the case, you might just have to try it a little later or jump off the ship as it's passing Darkshore

there's something wrong in what you say. I assume you are a human warlock since you want to go from SW.

Nothing can attack you on the dock of Auberdine since those Night Elf are Allies of Human...

Do you want coffee or tea? Yes, please.

I'm assuming you're playing on a PvP server. I'm also assuming that you are playing Alliance. I'm also assuming that they were Horde players.

Kinda have to assume, as getting the information out of you is more difficult than pulling a chicken's teeth.

What this means is that you've just experienced free-roam PvP. They have probably murdered most NPCs in Auberdine and were simply amusing themselves or it was retaliation for an earlier Alliance Raid on Horde territory. That happens. Welcome to PvP.

Your options are to wait until they're gone, resurrect at the graveyard or resurrect at your corpse and attempt to escape quickly enough that they cannot catch you.

Either way, if you are playing on a PvP server expect a bit more of that as you have to head into Horde (Not Alliance) territory to complete that quest. There will be a few more of them there

I'll just go in like a Night Elf. Take off my top and if that doesn't work try to distract them with the big blue guy. Maybe get him to do a Robin Williams Genie impression or something.

if it's a gnome, you have more chance to hide in the bush.
That also why I value short character name and short guild name, when you hide behind a tree you don't have 12 character in red each side of the tree...

in my previous guild, I looked like that behind a tree.

Takar the Seer, apparently at 49,57. Just East of where the road forks for Camp Taurajo. I'm heading there now myself.

Tanitha
21-12-2006, 08:50 AM
That is indeed where he is. It's a small white tent, just off the side of the road. The easiest route to get there is to fly to Theramore. Summon your Voidwalker and buff yourself with Armour and Waterbreathing. Then just go up the coast to Northwatch Keep, from there head across the hills to the West and then South West to those coordinates. It's about a 30 minute journey total, going all the way from Astranaar, Hippogrif to Theramore and then the walk abouts.

What is odd though - after the restart all the Horde players in the Barrens on a RP/PVP server were marked as FRIENDLY! I could even talk to them, even though I couldn't whisper them.

Something is SERIOUSLY munted after Blizzard's patch. There was some nifty looking green skinned honour skulking around there. AAARRRRRRGH!

Ardani

Because the Barrens is Horde territory, not contested, even on a PvP server you won't be able to initiate attack on any Hordie there unless they PvP flag themselves or strike the first blow. But... the successful communication thing is really weird. I don't think that's ever meant to happen.

Tanitha
21-12-2006, 06:45 PM
I didn't know that. The communication was a /say bubble popping up above my head - I've never been able to do that in contested territory, so maybe in enemy territory it is possible?

Anyway, I have my Succubus now and that's all that matters

I hardly suggest you to use the proper name of the place you go/cross if you really want some info, "whatever" isnt accurate enough :)

It will be hard to find something of this nature, though. You should speak with Takar the Seer. You will find him in the Barrens of Kalimdor near Camp Taurajo.

walk around the camp could be enough to see it.
