What is this to be... (instance portal)

While exploring a little while ago (before the patch) I found an instance portal at the back of Darkwhisper Gorge, behind some bars.

Anybody have any ideas what/where this is to be in the future? :-)

I believe the Black Citadel - I think if you have the spyglass, or the hunter talent that lets you see far off, I remember someone in my guild saying theres a smiley face inside. I'm sure there is, but I never bothered to check.

Darkwhisper Gorge is in Winterspring, The Black Citadel is in the Outlands. That portal leads to Mount Hyjal, which will be afuture raid instance, but nothing is there now.

How about the instance portal inside UD Strat? Any theories there? Many have not seen it, I would imagine, as it ls also behind bars and around a corner, where the stream of skellies charge out of after Ramstein drops.

I was thinking it was a back entrance to Naxx, like there is in BRD for MC, but with Naxx open, and those bars still closed...

that instance portal in UD strat was *supposed* to go to Naxxramas (like the one in BRD goes to Molten Core) but then Blizzard realized that's a moronic way to get 40 people into a raid (wasn't so much back when you could raid BRD/Strat with 40 people and just plow to the portal, but now there is 5 man caps) and went with the "attunement" option instead. The portal is now vestigial, like the human tailbone.

Hmm. I'm embarassed to admit that I didn't know about it... but I seem to remember reading somewhere that originally there was to be an entrance to Naxx through Strat, like BRD->MC and BRS->BWL, so maybe that was to be it...

Although TBH none of those made sense since the respective instances were capped to 5/10 people... I guess in theory a raid could run through UBRS ten at a time, but in the other two cases... you can't enter BRD as a raid, and you can't enter MC without being a raid, so........ maybe it will take us to somewhere in Northrend in the future?

nah, then 5/10man limit is the max people INSIDE the instance at the same time. you still can make a 40man raid. you only need to send first group to clear, then they enter the green protal then everyone run the cleared instance to the portal by group of 5/10. But it force you to wait the first group cleared the path.

Instead, everyone run the dungeon once, get attuened then use the short cut.

also, I'm almost exalted with AD and I didnt see any bar at the green portal in my UD Strat run.
I think Ill try to form a raid next time and see if I can enter.
