For you TBC experts I was just wondering if there will be a good amount of 5 man dungeons in the expansion or is it mostly 25 man raids?
I ask because our raiding guild has fallen apart and its been hard to get into a new guild. So I was just wondering if it would be necessery to get into a guild to experience the dungeons.
Thank you

The only 25 mans I know of is magtheridons lair and black temple. I think most of them will be 5 man except kharazhan.

Add black temple to the list of 25 man instances, but that is coming in a post BC patch.

The majority of the 60-70 instances are in fact 5-mans, and we probably won't get involved in raiding until lvl 68+. AFAIK there are 5 major "hubs" of instances, with 2-4 5-man wings each - and they are as follows:
Hellfire Citadel in Hellfire Peninsula:
Hellfire Ramparts (Level 60-62 mobs)
Bosses: Watchkeeper Gargolmar - Vazruden & Nazan - Omor the Unscarred
Blood Furnace (Level 61-63 mobs)
Bosses: The Maker - Broggok - Keli'dan the Breaker
The Shattered Halls (Level 70-72 mobs)
Bosses: Grand Warlock Nethekurse - Warbringer O'mrogg - Kargath Bladefist
Coilfang Reservoir in Zangarmarsh:
The Slave Pens (Level 62-64 mobs)
Bosses: Mennu the Betrayer - Rokmar the Crackler - Quagmirran
The Underbog (Level 63-65 mobs)
Bosses: Hungarfen - Overseer Tidewrath(optional) - Ghaz'an - Swamplord Musel'ek - The Black Stalker
The Steamvault (Level 70-72 mobs)
Bosses: Hydromacer Thespia - Mekgineer Steamrigger - Warlord Kalithresh
Auchindoun (to some Dutch people also known as "Arcane Doom";), in Terokkar Forest:
Mana Tombs (Level 64-66 mobs)
Bosses: Pandemonius - Tavarok - Nexus-Prince Shaffar
Auchenai Crypts (Level 65-67 mobs)
Bosses: Shirrak the Dead Watcher - Exarch Maladaar
Sethekk Halls (Level 67-69 mobs)
Bosses: Darkweaver Syth - Talon King Ikiss
Shadow Labyrinth (Level 70-72 mobs)
Bosses: Ambassador Hellmaw - Blackheart the Inciter - Grandmaster Vorpil - Murmur
Caverns of Time in Tanaris:
The Escape from Durnholde - Thrall Escaping from Durnholde Keep (between Warcraft 2 & 3) (level 66–68 5-man)
Bosses: Lieutenant Drake - Captain Skarloc - The Epoch Hunter
Opening the Dark Portal - Defend Medivh while he opens the Dark Portal (Warcraft 1) (level 70 5-man)
Bosses: Chrono Lord Deja - Temporus - Aeonus
Tempest Keep in Netherstorm:
The Mechanar (Level 69-72 mobs)
Bosses:
First Layer: Gatewatcher Gyro-Kill - Gatewatcher Iron-Hand - Mechano-Lord Capacitus
Second Layer: Nethermancer Sepethrea - Pathaleon the Calculator
The Botanica (Level 70-72 mobs)
Bosses: Commander Sarannis - High Botanist Freywinn - Thorngrin the Tender - Laj - Warp Splinter
The Arcatraz (Level 70-72 mobs)
Bosses: Zereketh the Unbound - Wrath-Scryer Soccothrates - Dalliah the Doomsayer - Warden Mellichar Event
That's a grand total of 15 new 5-man instances to cover the leveling from 60 to 70.

Question does anyone know if we will be facing Illidan in the Black Temple?

Word is yes. Whether you kill him or merely make him submit in some way (ala Majordomo) is unclear.

According to Blizzard, "players don't as much kill him as they kind of get in his way..". So maybe the lore doesn't support us killing Illidan, but he'll be waiting in the Black Temple regardless.
As for Zul'Aman, there's little official info on this instance yet - beyond the fact that it is confirmed to be a raid (10 or 25 man). It is located in the Ghostland, i.e. the Blood Elf 10-20 zone - and it is confirmed that it will be patched into the game post BC release.

What kind of gear will be required to complete these instances?
Is this part of the general progression in terms of dungeouns
MC/AQ20 --> BWL/AQ40 --> Naxx --> Hellfire Citadel
or will the levelling progression overcome this and effectively allow us to bypass things like BWL and Naxx?

Hellfire Citidal (Ramparts and Blood Furnace) are "Normal" Low 60s dungeon that follows the progression from old school dungeons. From my beta testing experience, i found these dungeons to be fairly easy 5 man runs designed for players in greens and blues and can be completed in roughly 1 hour.
THe next set of dungeons is Slave Pens and Underbog in CoilFang Reservoir, L61 to L64. Again, no special Tier 2 or Tier 3 gear required, just do these dungeons once you complete the lower level ones and you will have zero problems. And then off to the next set of dungeons..Auchindoun.. etc..
Burning Crusade overall is designed for a person who is L60 with a combination of blue/green armor that can start fresh with out any sort of handicap.
Of course, a person who goes into the starter dungeons equiped with T2 and T3 will be find the instances a bit easier and will not find much in the way of meaningfull upgrades until mid to upper 60s.

it's pretty much a gear "reset". You won't need MC/BWL/Naxx gear to effectively complete TBC dungeons. It certainly can't hurt to have it, but it's not going to be a barrier to you advancing.
