I'm looking to start using both Teamspeak and Ventrilo when I play WoW. Here's my question:

What's the best equipment hookup? A USB mic by itself, a USB single-ear headset, or a full headphone and mic system?

It has to be USB because the Mac Pro's mic jack requires more signal that computer mics can handle.

I'd like to have the game sound coming out of the speakers. If I can just use a stand-alone mic, that would be ideal, though I don't know if that creates feedback problems.

What setups do you guys use?

I got a cheap full headset with a in-line volume control and mute button... it does the trick I hear just fine and am heard fine as well, but most cases I just plug my mic in and keep the headset around my neck and use my desktop speakers

I think it's mainly prefrerence when it comes to MIC/Headset combos... go to the store try some on see what is comfortable.

I guess I'm just unsure as to what works and what creates feedback screeching. Thanks!

that's going to depend on quality...

My headset... a generic $20 POS works just fine never experience any problem with it, IF you have a good volume/audio control panel program on your computer you will be fine it just takes fine tuning and tweaking until you get your setting where you want them
