I wanted to find a friend and play with him online but I am going to start as a night elf druid but he is all the way in West fall and I would be at the starting point for the night elves. How long do you think it would take me to get to Westfall and what do you think would be the best way?

walk to darnasus, take the purple light portal to ruth'aran, take the boat to darkshore, take the other boat to menethil, swim down the coast to westfall.
remember to talk to the gryphon/hipogriph people at ever town you encounter (darkshore, menethil)

do you think there is a chance I would die taking that route

there is a chance you die doing anything, it's just a game, not like you have to start over or something
it's probably the safest route other then geting a portal to stormwind or geting summoned by a warlock to your friend's location.

Well, there is not a very easy way . . . gonna be a long run regardless.

First things first, lvl up a bit and have your friend slow down or stop lvling until you catch up.

After you lvl up to say 10 - 15, you should be pretty close to where your friend is (guessing lvls based on areas mentioned). By then, you should be questing in darkshore. You can take a ship from Auberdine to Menethil Harbor. From there, you have a long run . . .

Go east out of Menethil harbor and stick to the road!! You will be low lvl compared to the mobs here and you may get killed a few times. You can follow this road all the way through wetlands, south into Loch Modan, and then up into Iron forge. Once in IF, take the tram (ask a guard) to Storm Wind. From there, you can make your way south out of the city and follow the road west into Westfall.

It is pointless to go before lvl 15 as you won't be able to quest in westfall anyway. If you make the journey sooner, I guess you could lvl in Elwynn forest . . .

Also be sure to grab all the flight points along the way. There is one in auberdine, menethil harbor, dwarf village in loch modan (name escapes me), Iron forge, Storm Wind, and finally the one in Westfall.

Good luck

EDIT - too late . . . someone already posted. Must learn to be less longwinded =)

Try to get to about level 10 or so first. That will make it a bit easier and should only take you a few hours of playtime.

Something else to consider...(I've never played a druid so someone else will have to answer this) Where are the nearest druid trainers ? Westfall is human lands and there are no human hunters or druids. So, going for your training in the early levels (which will be often) will require a lot of travel.

You can probably do it in under an hour. Or have him meet you in one of the major cities so you aren't walking alone the whole time.

Your firend might be able to get a warlock to summon you to him. If you can do that it will be the fastest way, but, exploring is fun when you are new so just start running.

There are Druid and Hunter Trainers In Storwmwind.

owlx....what level are you?

besides that I want to be alliance and horde.....1 character for each.....I want to be a Night Elf Druid and some sort of Tauren.....I think that would be awesome to go with you...I need to get to know some of the ppl who play so we could work together....like in a guild

oh yeah and what is the difference in servers? like the same worlds but different ppl? what server r u on?

I have characters on several different servers, levels 19-60 all races and classes, I'm in 3 different guilds atm.

If you want both alliance and horde characters on the same server, you will have to play on a PvE server. PvP servers only allow you to select one faction. Make sure it's the same server as your friend. Ask him the name of the server and join that one. let me know what your character name is and what times you play. I can show you where to go to meet up with your friend. After that you guys should explore the game together. That the real fun.

Just let me know your character name and race, server, and time you play, and I will help you get to where you have to go

it depends on who you come across. some people are jerks to new players and instead of helping they like to make fun so they can feel good about themselves. You'll come across some nice people. add them to your friends list and group up with them from time to time. I'm sure you and your friend can figure it out.

WOW was my first MMORPG. I was a noob like you once. Now I'm the L33tsauce. ;)

Best way to get your feet wet is jump right in. You'll get the hang of it.
