View Full Version : Just to counter the idiot thread: the WoW random friendlyness thread!

Moving moments, friendly players you have encountered... Since an idiot thread can be very funny but also very depressing at times, here's the way to counter it: a thread about the friendly people you come across in the game. Because they do exist. Or, a thread about any moving and/or happy moments you have got.

My Paladin recently saw the worlddefense channel being spammed with attacks, first in Loch Modan. I was in IF at the time, so I decided to fly there to find out what the fuss was about. When I got to Loch Modan, the Valley of Kings was under attack, so I went there - then I noticed the South Gate Pass was being assaulted, and there he was: a level 32 UD warrior (I am level 52). I am not a meanie, so I left him alone and waved and did /no at him. I followed him around a bit as he entered Dun Morogh and cheered him on - never had the intent to attack him.

Of course the inevitable happened - a level 60 mage with an oversized ego came along and two-shotted him. I wanted to apologize somehow, but he didn't resurrect so I let it pass.

Anyway, just earlier today I was in a WSG game with my Hunter, and low and behold, there was the warrior I encountered. He had no way of knowing who I was, so after the game was over (Alliance won with 3-0 while we were in the minority, yay) I went to my Horde alt and whispered him. He immediately remembered me and we had a long and fun conversation. I also had a chance to apologize for the mage that killed him earlier this week.

It was fun. Big coïncidence as well, since the BG's are cross-realm ;)

I was doing this unsoloable quest in Un'Goro Crater (the one where you have to use the pheremones to bring out the queen of the hive - Pawn Captures Queen, I think), and there was *no one* there horde-side to help out. So I go in to try one more time, and there are two gnomes there, so I help them out while trying not to steal kills, and when we get to the right chamber, I /point and /beg, and they figure out what's going on. One of them gets on his horde alt and asks me what I needed help with, so I tell them, and they stick around to help me kill the queen.

Well unfortunately, when the queen arrives, one of their pets tapped the queen first, and I couldn't loot the corpse. So I /point and /cry, and they offer to stick around to help me out again, but it's one of those quests that you have to abandon and go all the way back to the quest giver to get the necessary items again, so I /thank them and just decide to do it later.

Role playing is fun, but sometimes, it's just nice to pretend there are people on the other side of the icky gnomes.

Helped some alliance guy and his buddies complete the tower quest in EPL a couple of weeks ago. They stood there and told other alliance players not to attack me so I could take the towers and they could get credit for taking them back.
