Hello everyone. I'm Tarinth of Section One, a guild on the Archimonde server. I wanted to introduce myself and tell everyone about a project I've been involved in.

I've played a large number of MMOs over the past, oh--decade and a half--and during that time I've met a lot of great gamers and guilds. The problem with gaming in general is that you're always playing under an alter-ego, which makes it hard to find and reconnect with the players you've met over the years.

I wanted to find a way to solve this--and also to help preserve the gaming memories and histories of all players. The solution was GuildCafe, a site that allows you to store all the servers, names and guilds you've been affilliated with (whether World of Warcraft, or otherwise). You can then search for players and find people you've played with before, or locate others based on their interests.

The site is currently in beta but I'd appreciate feedback from the WoW community on how to make it better and more useful to everyone. You can view my own personal page/game history on the site here:

I hope everyone finds it helpful and fun to use. A few minutes at http://www.guildcafe.com/WorldOfWarcraft.php is all it takes to register and store some of your gaming history--and help us build a great resource for all MMO gamers.

Regards,

Tarinth

Be careful, probably a keylogger.

No, I know of this place, and it's legit. Great idea it is, too. I have a habit of never re-using character names or forum handles across games, so I could well be missing a lot of old gaming compatriots who don't recognise me. At some point I'll get around to putting all my gaming handles up there... I've done Guild Wars and UO, at least.

Hope it takes off, Tarinth.

Ardani: thanks for the support. I hope you're enjoying the site.

Suicider: You're right to be concerned about websites attempting to install keyloggers, given the number of times it's been tried.

GuildCafe doesn't attempt to install any software to you computer, nor do we require you to download anything. The only harm we might have is that a lot of our members have found logging into us to be quite addictive :)
