Question about character transfers

Suppose I have have two characters on two different realms, both with the same name, and I want to transfer one character to the same realm as the other. What will happen? Will I be given the opportunity to rename one of them? Or will it simply be impossible?

You will be given a chance to rename the toon your are moving, unless they've changed that recently.

I moved my characters only a few months ago and it hasn't changed. You will be prompted upon attempting to proceed from the character select screen to rename that character.
