I've had WOW for well over eighteen months, and naturally had to download several major patches during that time. Now I have several icons in my WOW folder named after these patches. Here's a look:

So what I wonder is if these files are safe to remove of if they need to be there. I'm starting to get a little low on disk space and would like to get rid of anything redundant...

Do a fresh re-install, only dl patches 1.12.0 and 2.0.1 from a mirror and utilize them. And you should be ready to go again.

You should be able to get away with removing all of your patch files as they are already applied to the game anyway, but it'd probably be safer to reinstall and download the patches already mentioned.

Running out of HD space? Maybe you should delete some videos or the such off your computer. Although WoW is a big file, a single video is larger. Burn it to a disc or get rid of it.
I would recommend leaving game files alone.

I'd recomend a fresh install, and after that a defrag to help with space. If you have it a disk cleanup program that hellps too.
ALSO: make sure to save your mods before the uninstall.
